Ok.. I thought I would chime in and show some of my mental vacation pictures.. although.. I have to say.. they arent from my vacation!! they are of where i live:

FYI: I was sick up the Road to Hana too. I just think the elevation changes and the winding around was getting to me, and there was a point where I thought I needed to lay down! But def. well worth the drive!! A beautiful place unlike any other.

I actually can't wait for my trip to Kauai; it is my favorite of the Hawaiian Islands! I love it because they have chickens all over the island; the only thing I didn't like was when we were sleeping the roosters would wake us up. It was too funny!!

Yippeee for summer Trips Harriet! I love trips during the summer; it makes me feel like a kid again

Yes Skippy, I need eye candy! I have to wait 5 more months till I go on vacation so I need my fix from photos!

SDL, I hope you get to travel. It''s really one of the wonderful joys in life, especially if one can travel with a good attitude (sounds crazy that people wouldn''t, but they do). But even if it is our backyard, I think lots of folks forget how many amazing sights we have in this country. I remember when I went to Yosemite for the first time 4 years ago...I thought it was the most amazing place...and this is after most of my travels in Europe and Oz.

). My brother has an amazing eye for photography and cinematography and he is untrained. I hope you don''t mind me sharing (PS admin, please let me know if I break a rule by linking this and I will remove immediately) but he just entered a fun contest for the red hot chili peppers that they are running on you tube so you can see how he has a better eye than I do.

I''ll put the link in another post so it''s easy to delete in case I shouldn''t be linking to it. Forgive us for the video quality...once youtube gets their hands on it, it just goes downhill.

But when you travel by yourself, you have all the time in the world to really SEE things and let the camera capture it - not to mention he time to try to capture it multiple times. Love digital cameras! All these were taken with dinosaur of a digital camera bought in 1998. But what I love about digital is you can really stand back and see what is going to be in the photo because of the screen. Much harder for the amateur photograper to really notice everything they are capturing through a viewfinder.

Rick and I LOVE Kauai. That is our favorite Island in Hawaii. It is so peaceful and quiet there. I don''t bother wearing makeup either. I saw that in one of your posts. You are right, makeup melts right off LOL LOL. Love the mai-tias too. oops think I spelled it wrong.
