Trapezoids- faceted or not?

HI,
I am thinking about have a three stone ring made up with a radiant cut center and trapezoids on either side. I was just wonder if trapezoids are cut like baguettes or are they more faceted, like brilliants, or do they come both ways?
Also, the stone I want is a D color and the store making the ring for me said the trapezoids would be F colored. Will there be a noticeable difference?

F colored side stones with a D colored center stone ARE JUST FINE.

Trapezoids, at least all the ones I've seen are by nature of their faceting within the "step cut" family. Those also include baguettes in their variations (tapered or straight), & emerald cut. Traps are kinda like a different shaped baguette and THEY ARE GORGEOUS alongside a princess or radiant cut and especially an emerald cut.
