Transparent arrows

Hi all, can anyone please explain why these arrows (the 5 on the top of the diamond) looks transparent/white? Is it just the reflection or does is indicate there’s light leakage or something wrong with the diamond? It scores a HCA of 1.4 TIC ex ex vg vg

It is the distance from and the angle to the black camera lens that causes the black in the stars.
The proportions also have a big impact and the shallower the diamonds overall proportions the darker the star will be.
It is a good thing not a bad thing in this stone

The diamond is tilted so those facets are not parallel to the camera (so they are not reflecting the black camera).

Very nice stone - the backlight is way too strong (three stars have gone silvery) so ignore the slight leakage patches inside the table.

Oh I’m in a bit of a pickle now!! I did really like this stone and then I saw the idealscope and though it was bad.

Would you give me your opinion on which one would be better in terms of light return and which one is more likely to have more edge to edge brightness.

No way to compare them.

I’m very inexperienced with all of this. But I can see what you’re saying about the backlight now that you mention it.
So you’re saying this stone is painted?

2nd looks painted but lousy IS image

I am not inclined to give an opinion because the poor quality of the images provided.
There are things that might or might not just be a result of the quality of the images that can swing an opinion either way.

I’m getting super anxious about which one to choose. I’ve already got a 1ct natural stone that is painted and lacks edge to edge brightness and I can’t bear to buy another one with the same issue or one that doesn’t have great light return.

@Garry H (Cut Nut) @Karl_K in your very experienced opinion which diamond do you think has the best chance of not having any issues. Please see links below to see the videos/IGI reports + IS images + HCA

Ok cool, it’s definitely the same stone. Which one is better between the FIC and the other stone in this thread. I have the choice of either so would like to choose the best one

Ok thanks Karl! Thank you for investing so much time into my stone, I really appreciate it. I think I’m going to trust your judgement and stick with the FIC. I need to stop looking at other stones and driving myself crazy ha ha

Hi everyone! I ended up going with the original stone in this post (the TIC) and I have finally received my finished ring!! It was so stressful trying to decide between the two diamonds. Thanks a lot to @Garry H (Cut Nut) and @Karl_K for providing so much knowledge and help (in all my multiple threads). I think the diamond looks beautiful and I’m super happy with how the ring has turned out. Here are some videos and pics..
