Hello pricescopers

I would like some thoughts about this ring please. It's a big stone, lovely colour. Has got surface scratches. Setting is a bit clumpy but it looks lovely on. Just under $2500. I'm likely not in a position to buy but I'm in the UK anyway...

Ps excuse the hideous state of my hands

Thanks

Tourmaline isn't my thing but since you don't have any other responses my post will bring you back to the top of the Colored Stones Forum.

Tourmaline is a bit soft, at 7.5 just like Amethyst. That's probably why the stone has some scratches. I hope someone that's knowledgeable about Tourmalines responds.

Do you have a larger (straight down the table) view? I cannot tell a thing about the cut quality. Tourmalines love to shift too, so it's a bit hard to tell. Actually, I don't mind the setting at all (3 diamonds set in a triangular shape) on each side.

Thanks for the replies. I have been looking for the past few days to get an idea of prices but to someone with little knowledge they seem all over the place. I guess what I like about it is the colour and finger presence. The scratches would irritate me he mentioned recutting to get rid of them but I wonder how simple that would be? Would it change the colour?
This is the nearest stone in colour, cut and size I could find - is it overpriced? Nice stone? I'm very curious

Stone Hunter - yes I realise it's less resilient wouldn't bother me only that it's already damaged
Chrono- no other photos I felt cheeky taking those so that's not much use from me and as I'm unlikely to be able to buy it I would feel I was being unfair to take more!

All this has also prompted me to think about at what I could afford - non gem, colour and cut specific I'm talking across the board who will actually ship to the UK so I would welcome thoughts on anyone UK based.
