Hi all - new to this board and was recommended to come here for some advice. Curious to hear people’s thoughts between 4 stones… cost is all within a range I am okay with so let’s leave that out for now, as I'd rather not factor in. Sorry for the length stat list but it seems most prefer to see full details. What suprises me is that the "VG" cut in option C scores 2.5 on HCA versus A & B get a 5.5 and a 4.6 on the HCA

I was spooked yesterday that my original favorite of Option C was terrible given VG cut, but it seems much better on HCA.

Hi,

I think that the general consensus from this forum is going to be "none of the above" based on a quick look at the stats. The "starting point" on this forum is often GIA Ex/Ex/Ex or AGS 000 with HCA < 2.0. Then you would request from the vendor images, video, idealscope/ASET, etc. in order to confirm the purchase.

AGS 000 is generally a safe bet to be a quality choice (though some are better than others) and recent documents have the ASET image on the certificate which is a great help. GIA Ex/Ex/Ex is much more broad and it needs additional confirmation. HCA is only a rejection tool and using it, it seems you would reject your picks above (in addition that they are not GIA 3X or AGS000).

I hope this helps. Maybe providing a budget and minimum clarity/color/carat would allow some other forum members to help you out directly.

I found this blog post to be helpful to me.

And we might be looking at similar stones. I'm on the hunt for a similar size, specs that you are. :) I have a spreadsheet with all the ones I'm considering but I'm pretty close to making my final decision between 2. Once I decide on mine, I'm happy to share my list (10-15 options) with you. All are 2+ carat round, between G-I in color, and VS2-SI2 in clarity and all are pretty ideal cuts with scores under 2 in HCA.
