Hi Everyone
35.gif

I just picked up a cute, very well priced ring from EBay that is blue topaz, eternity style... hopefully will be one of my RHR to play with. I have no clue how wearable topaz is, can anyone with some experience clue me in?

Am I going to be able to wear on a regular basis? Not everyday but pretty frequently?

Any advice would be great!

I have an emerald cut blue topaz ring that I''ve worn as an everyday ring for almost four years now . . . it''s maybe 4 or 5 carats, set in a simple four prong setting so the stone isn''t protected by a lot of metal or anything and is just "out there". Haven''t had any issue at all.

Congrats on your ebay find!

Wow that was fast!
Thanks Fiery, it’s pretty protected as it is the eternity style, but not channel. Not really prong, but the stones nestle in sort of a basket. My digital camera is a major piece but I will post some cell phone pics when I get it next week!

A blue topaz is very inexpensive. It is reasonably hardy and if damaged, I''d just get a new one.

My mom has an EC one set in a gold (prongs) ring for almost 30 years now and it''s still fine; she wears it occasionally.

Chrono: good point!

Ma Re: From the sound of your mom''s ring, I think my new little rhr will be just fine... thanks for the reassurance

I have a suite that I love to wear but I am careful of them as I have read that they are sensitive to heat and can fade in strong sunlight.

I have a small EC one that I wear fairly often. I''ve had it for 12+ years and have had no problems with it. HTH

CatMom: thanks for the heads up...I am out side in the sun A LOT with the horses, so I will make a mental note to leave my sparklies at home when in sun and heat!

SH: thanks for the input!
