This brooch was in two of the auctions listed. It originally was owned the the Duchess of Windsor, and then Elizabeth Taylor. It sold for almost twice what Taylor bought it for. Her provenance added even more provenance to the piece.

I have seen some of the Cartier pieces in person when I attended their exhibition in Paris earlier this year, and the Flamingo brooch will always be my favourite.

What fun looking at all the glory! I saw most of them when they were auctioned, except the early ones & it's a big thrill to see them all. Can't possibly pick a favorite among all that perfection. I've always loved the Gulf Oil parure by Winston. The Napoleon III & Poltimore tiaras too. Lily Safra's jewels are stupendous.

I have a lot of respect for Gloria von T&T. From a wild child, she grew up fast when the chips were down, took the T&T estate in hand & now has it in spic-&-span order. Smart chick.
