I guess I can understand the doubt. But because some one has not seen a thing before does not mean it does not exist. Nobody has seen it all. I have focused my collecting on the lesser known gems. The ones the general public does not know exist. That helps to keep my costs down. To flame me for sharing pictures of my spinels seems a little harsh. Like I said I guess I should take it as a comlpliment. I just don''t like the attack on my intergity!

One last thing. The last picture I posted you can see the background through the stone. Maybe a computer whiz could distort the background but that is far above my skill level.

huh?
I must be missing something.
I havent been following threads here in a couple days.
Been busy elsewhere.

found the thread.
honest mistake in my opinion.

I must have been a bit hash about the picture, immagining it comes from a random seller somewhere. If you do own the three spinels and they look like the picture, goo for you. They do look ''too good to be true'' and I certainly mean this as a compliment.

On the other hand... I am very happy to hear about your interest in the unusual gem materials. If you would consider posting about such things, it will be a pleasure to follow your posts.

If at any time you might find my posts on your threads or related to your posts less than curteous, please feel free to PM with the due critique. That will help me keep track of what my hasty posts feel like on the other side of the screen, and this is very, very helpful.

Color,

Once again welcome to pricescope. You have a beautiful collection and I am sure that everyone agrees. After reading the orginal thread in its entirety, I freeely admit that when I saw the pictures I thought "wow.. that is unbeleiveable"! I am do think anyone is questioning your integrity. It is easy for people to quicky misconstrue comments on a thread. Probably because you cannot interpret tone of Voice and such. We hope that you will continue to show your collection. Valerie is a wonderful source of information as well as others on this site. By the looks of your collection, you are as well! This is a wonderful and welcoming community and I hope that you do not decide to leave us.

Hi, ColorMyWorld
35.gif

So sorry to learn about some kind of misunderstanding occuring.

I''ve been in Colored Stones Forum for about 15 months, with a break of maybe 9 months in between. I can assure you Val101 is a very decent person. Please give her lots of benefit of the doubt. Quite often, when no one answers my queries, she makes me feel there is at least one person in our forum who cares. And I believe she does that not only to me. Many, many times, she even gives me tips, links and images which were very helpful (Thanks, Val101

Sometimes I do say things the same way she may have said to you. Fortunately, she didn''t and haven''t got angry with me (as far as I can tell

). And to all the other chaps and ladies, I do apologise if I sound curt, discourteous or rude, etc., to any of you, but I wish to say that I have no intention to do so. Perhaps, I may have had a good meal of curry, etc., or may have got worked up over certain topics for personal reasons, if I do so.

And thanks for posting images of your Spinels. Due to this thread, I just happened to look at your Spinel thread. Wow! I''ve never really got interested in Spinels, but i''m sort of beginning to realise Spinels may be superior to Corundum and Mankind seems to have made a mistake about the rank of Spinel over Sapphires and Rubies. Not sure, just a preliminary feeling. All thanks to your images.

That CaveKeeper really bugs me with all the emoticons he uses. Just what''s he mean by those?
LOL

Thanks Cavecreeper

It must be the downside of photoshop-ing pictures all the time: since almost anything can be done, I am a bit too incredulous about pictures

If I didnt know the effects of that surface in photos I might have said the same thing val.
Its understandable so dont be too hard on yourself.

CMW, Please do stick around. You appear to have a great collection (loved the cc garnet; hope the spinels do turn out to be natural), you''ll learn a lot (especially from Ana, she has an incredible amount of knowledge that she is very generous in sharing), we all will benefit from (and want to drool over) what you can show us, and frankly, the colored gem crowd regulars are a substantially smaller group than the diamond fans, so we could use your contribution to the critical mass on the forum. And, in my own self-interest, I share your particular interest in garnets and am looking forward to seeing more of yours.
