Thank you everyone for sharing my excitement.
Tonight we took it for a test drive in Costco since they have some of the best lighting for diamond fire and scintillation.
Now I can do this thing my SO's been doing to me … we hold our ring-hand up on our forehead and exclaim we have a headache … it's only to get the other person to look at us so we can show off our Octavias.
He's been doing this to me for 3 years and finally it's pay-back time.
Though the ring is from Boonerings, it is not made from titanium.
I chose their new cobalt-chrome alloy, mostly because it is whiter alloy than titanium.
(My partner's titanium ring is quite dark now … I'll get some pics up after the holiday. Maybe it needs polishing.)
Cobalt-chrome is also 1 to 2 steps harder on the Mohs scale than titanium so it's more scratch-resistant.
This bright white metal, especially with its polished finish in the grooves next to the diamond, reflect bright white light and sort of blend into the brightness of this diamond.
I recommend this alloy.
I asked Bruce to modify the 'prongs', which are normally square on top, to be triangles so they blend into Octavia's vibrating pattern.
I really wish more people could see this cut live.
I'm going to have to get used to this large diamond.
I've worn a 0.83 carat round for a year and a half.
I bought a plain sterling silver band for times at work when I'm in locations where I should not look too blingie because this diamond is a quite the attention-getter.
Already two people in Costco commented on it and I caught others staring ……… to Karl.
