titanium settings?

Hello All!

I'm about to buy an e-ring for my lady and I stumbled across several websites with titanium settings... Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of using titanium over platinum? what is pricier? what has more "cachet"?

Adv
-Strongest metal around (scratch free )
-Light weight
-Much cheaper than Platinum
-Great for tension setting (if that is the setting you are considering)
-inert (won’t cause sensitive skins to rash like some other mater, etc)

Dis-adv
-Not much flexibility for resizing after the ring is finished (plus/minus 0.5 ring size only)
-Can’t melt the Ti ring and re-make the setting if you don’t like it
-Even with the highest polish finish, it will not match the whiteness of Platinum (looks more like chrome, correct me if I am wrong…anyone?)
