Titanium/allergic reaction

Hi everyone,

I'm having a custom piece made this summer and am considering that it be made out of titanium. The reason for this choice is that I heard that this metal is less likely to cause an allergic reaction than other metals. Is this true or does it depend upon the mixture or what?

Which vendor(s) would you recommend for titanium?

This will be for a body piercing so it's especially important that there isn't any sort of irritation. My alternative is stainless steel.

Thanks.

Titanium is hypoallergenic, so is Niobium.

Thanks for your response, Sky.

I'll call around then and see what can be designed :)

You're welcome, MC. Also, I've heard there were different types of stainless steel, so you are probably safest with a true, known hypoallergenic metal.

Platinum would also be a good choice. 8-)
