Tilt and shape of the halo

I thought I was set on round halo for my reset but, apparently, I'm having last minute doubts as suddently cushion-shaped halos with round stones look very attractive. What do you guys think, for a very delicate halo with a round stone, which one would look better, round or cushion? One other question, how much should the halo be tilted to ensure that not too much metal shows from the side view. Is it usually 20 degrees? 30? Thanks!

I have no idea about tilt.. but I love my cushion halo... and RB stone... it's the one thing I can say I'm not looking to change or upgrade.. but I can't say this for anything else I own...

I really like a the look of a cushion-shaped halo with round stone - if I was going to get a halo, that's what I'd choose!

I really like cushion shaped halos with rounds. Kind of the best of both worlds...a little bit of cushion...a little bit of round.

Frankie's VC has a 25 degree tilt which looks good to me.

You're doing a plain shank, right? For a plain shank, I prefer a round halo. If you are getting pave on the shank, then I would go with a cushion shaped halo though.

Yah! I'm happy to see that your moving right along with your setting! As far as the shape of the halo, you know that I'm partial to cushion shaped, but I think if you're trying to pack a lot of punch and optimize the look of your center stone that round is the way to go. I have no idea about the tilt, but frankies is gorgeous and if hers is 25, then that's what I would want too. This is so exciting! I can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I agree, Frankie's halo is just about perfect, so 25 degrees sounds great (thanks for that link tyty!).

Laila, yes, i'm going with a plain shank. I also wonder if perhaps a cushion halo would give it a more antique look while the round one would look more modern and, therefore, better with my quite modern w-band.
