Tiffany has the Lucida cut, right? What makes Cartier rings special?

Really beautiful, but less practical design and stylish history, royal families etc etc.
Tiffany might be upper middle USA, Cartier might be upper upper European.

Good Q

One jeweler I know worked as a subcontractor for both (not in the same time) doing manual gold work. So... the standards cannot be all that different, at least for the pieces produced in series.

The business models are a bit different (less "entry products" at Cartier) but otherwise, I would have a hard time naming a winner.

I would call Cartier more austere in style - but this about taste, not quality. Most likely both firms are making errors every now and then since there have been complaints about the products and service of both right here (a crooked Cartier solitaire and unexpectedly long delivery time from Tiffany... if you have the patience to dig the PS archive, I just happened to remember these two).

Hope this helps,

Ana

I don't think the quality differs, but if I had to choose between them for myself I'd much rather have the Cartier name. Plus, their classic solitaire is quite a beauty.
