Tiffany "square-mixed cut" - what is it?

I kinda like the cut. I would like to see how it performs IRL. But the price?? :roll Puleeeze!!!

I love a round cut and a step cut. But not together. As such, I am not a fan of a radiant cut and most cushions. The only modification to a step cut that I like is the Octavia. What I like about the step cut are the straight prisim like lines that seem to go into eternity. Modifications to step cuts seem to shorten these lines and angles.

Not the best pictures ever, my boyfriend snapped them while ring shopping this weekend. The sparkle is incredible irl. I think the metro band pairs with it very well as a wedding band. As for the price point- I found it very similar to the classic Tiffany solitaire. This is a a 1.10 h vs1 I believe and it was $16,000. I had also tried on a 2.65 carat that was $36,000.

HI:

Saw the diamonds today at Tiffany--and ME WANTS! Gorgeous!

cheers--Sharon

Are you in Canada? I went to a store in Vancouver last weekend and they said they’re back not getting them until mid November!

Thanks for sharing...1.01 H VS1 loose diamonds cost about 1/3 or price of the entire ring at Tiffany! :boohoo:

I guess they are charging for the entire blue box experience...so it's all good too.

The yellow diamond ac117 posted is a "square antique modified brilliant" cut, which only comes in yellow, but it's not dissimilar to the legacy cut used for white diamonds and colored gems. The true cut is for white diamonds, and has checkboard-like facet reflections. The true settings I saw were low profile, and the yellow ones did not have the square antique cut. However, Tiffany now advertises clients can now customize his/her diamond ring (choose the diamond, setting, inscription, etc.), so you may be able to get a square antique modified brilliant cut in any setting now!

I saw a stunning yellow diamond ring at Tiffany’s with this cut I believe. It was gorg!!! (The price tag not so much lol)

Lol no I only tried it on - it was over $100k! I think this one was over 2 carats. They also had a much smaller one, as well, less than a carat for about $15k.

Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing, ac117! Do you remember the color grades and other specs?

I don't, I'm sorry! ;(

I just tried on a 2.17 CT F color True solitaire, and I have to say I'm impressed. Except for the price.
