Tiffany price negotiable? Other retail?

I was told that Tiffany & Co. never discounts off of the listed price. Does anyone have first hand experience with this comment? How about other higher end retails stores? Would one typically expect a piece of diamond jewelry to be discounted 10-25%?

Tiffany does not negotiate at all unfortunately. Even employees do not get a discount on diamond jewelry.

What about diamonds at Shreve Crump & Low, Boston? Anyone with price negotiation experience there? WIll they budge?
