So my boyfriend of 3 and a half years proposed to me this weekend. We had been talking about getting engaged and we had gone to look at rings together and he knew the Tiffany Novo was my favorite; however, him proposing this weekend was a total surprise.
So for the story....
We live in Denver and we went to Orange County, CA for my brother in law''s wedding this weekend. The night of the wedding, we went out late at night to main street where they have a lot of different restaurants and shops and he mentioned that we should come back the next day to see the ocean and I agreed. The next morning we woke up and got ready to go to the beach. He was taking his back pack to carry some stuff in and I asked him what all he was bringing cause it was super full. He just said that he had his laptop in there and I was like whatever. We decided to walk to the beach cause we were staying at my Dad''s house and he only lives about a mile away. On the way, he mentioned how heavy his bag was and that we should stop in a gallery to look at photos and cool of before heading to the beach and I agreed. Near the gallery, which is in a hotel, is a forever 21. When we got there he said to hang out in the forever 21 while he went to the bathroom. He took forever and when he got back, he didn''t have his backpack with him. I asked him what took so long and where his back pack was and he just said that it was in a safe place. We went into the hotel entrance and started looking at the art, then we went up the stairs to look at more art. Then he went toward the elevators and I was like, "oh is there another level" and he said he thought so. We went up a level and it was all hotel rooms so he said lets just look around. There were photos on all the doors of people with surf boards so we were checking them all out. Then when we got to one door and he pulled out a door key and opened it up. I walked in and straight ahead there was a balcony so I walked out onto the balcony and could see the most amazing view of Huntington Beach pier and the beach. When I turned around, David was down on one knee with the blue box in his hand. I didn''t think I would cry, but I totally started crying and then he started crying. It was so amazing and I couldn''t have asked for a better proposal. After he proposed, I we called our families and my Dad and his wife came over to the hotel and we had a champagne toast. We stayed the night in the hotel and had the most amazing time.
