Do they make one and do you have pictures? Nothing on their website

I''m thinking of a micropave platinum solitaire setting similar to Ritani''s. Thanks,

Why not just get the Ritani and pick your own stone?

I''m looking in to that but my gf is "one of those" who would be elated to have a Tiffany''s (and it''s not even Friday yet:))...not to start a Tiffany topic but just curious if they had such an iten so I can ''weigh my options.''

Mrs. Salvo:), what''s the best micropave solitaire setting? Much difference in craftsmanship b/t Michael B, Ritani, Simon G, Harry Winston, etc.?

ahhh...well if the Tiffany name is important than go for that, but do realize you''re going to pay a 40% mark-up which will probably equal smaller stone..

I have done a lot of research on micropave. harry winston,Michael b do it right. their rings are handmade and the best out there that i''ve found. i don''t know much about simon G. Ritani makes a wonderful product. their rings are cast but hand set and finished. Their style of pave is slightly different more of a channel set pave look but many think this helps with durablility.

thanks for the info mrs. salvo...I''ll check into Michael B and Harry Winston...I they marked up???? As it seems their prices are high like Tiffany''s well, but maybe you''re saying it''s due to their great craftsmenship? Thanks.

yep, there's a premium for them too. There is usually a premium attached to a designer setting. Not all are created equal however. some are worth the premium to me, others aren't. The down side to Tiffany's and HW for me is you can't pick your own stone. Not that their stones are bad, I just like picking exactly what i want

So you would go with the michael B then, due to it''s quality and allowance to pick your own stone?

Personally, I think Cartier does the absolute best micropave

that''s totally up to you. If your gal wants a Tiffany or HW and that name is important then by all means pursue those options. I love Michael b too and considered a setting of his for myself. Are you trying to get the most bang for your buck or do you have a huge budget to work with? many times those are factors in which a decision is made. There are some wonderful designers and custom jewelers out there.

I don''t want to spend extra money if I don''t have to but would be willing to pay for a product if it''s quality. You talk about Ritani being cast fabricated whereas HW etc. are hand made...guess I''m not sure how much of a difference that makes and maybe I should just go look w/ my own eyes, but if you know what the difference in looks are please share!! Basically, just want to get the most bang for my buck and would rather have an excellent quality setting and diamond than a big diamond and mediocre setting...make sense? Any suggestions?

Ritani has one of my favorite settings right now. another huge possiblity on my list for a new setting. several Pricescopers have it and haven''t had any troubles with the pave. One of the gals cleans her ring in her ultrasonic. The are priced very well for a designer and stand behind their product. if you/she likes a Ritani setting, the workmanship will not be subpar.

Here''s a link to mara''s friend''s Ritani..I ADORE this setting

I have a Ritani...similar to the above ring mrssalvo posted, except with the halo. I clean my ring in the SI ultrasonic cleaner all the time, and have not had any problems with it at all. In fact, my ring was specifically made without the sizing bar at the bottom (so the tiny diamonds go all the way around, eternity-style) and I haven''t had any problems with those stones either.

Also, mrssalvo is right in that the Ritanis have more of a channel-set micropave look to them, than say Michael B....which (I think) gives the Ritani pave a more subtle sparkly look, if that makes any sense.

So does anyone know if Tiffay makes a micropave solitaire like the Ritani?

mrssalvo, i think you're correct... in that legacy line, they do have that one RB style which has the halo around the stone, but the diamonds along the shank aren't round... it looks too similar to my ring, so i never bothered to pay much attention to it...but remember nicolette sheridan's ring that was for sale on ebay at one time? i think someone posted the ebay link and pictures in another thread a while back...

ETA: here's the link to that thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/nicolette-sheridans-e-ring-up-on-ebay.43472/

I''m just trying to find an excellent quality setting and would love to afford to purchase a little bit bigger diamond (1.5 ct square cut) by maybe saving some money from buying a loose diamond. Since HW, Tiffany''s, etc. don''t allow you to set your own diamond, I''m thinking Michael B maybe? I do like Ritani, but if Michael B is a "step above" like Mrs. Salvo says then I''d prefer that. I saw a RB cut on a micropave MB but not a setting for the square cut...will this setting hold a square cut as well, or would they be able to customize it somehow? Surely Michael B has some sort of simple micropave soliatire for the princess.

bigE. I''d suggest calling Pearlmans. he carries both Michael B and Ritani and can get in the awesome AGS000 princess cut stones. He can discuss with you the pros and cons of each designer and lead you in the right direction. he is a highly regarded Pricescope vendor and his prices for desinger settings are very competitve. Michael b does make a beautiful pave solitaire.

I agree...I''m looking at his website a lot lately and everyone on PS seems to think a lot of his service so that says a lot. Thanks for the help!

bigE, you will probably do far better pricewise to buy a fantastic diamond from one of these vendors and then get a setting separately. I've looked at Tiffany's too and LOVE their rings, but seriously, you're talking double the price!!! It's just not worth it unless you are very wealthy. And if you are, by all means go for it!

I am going to tell you that Maytal Hoftman is an artist, and she has worked for both Tiffany and Beaudry...two of the very best. She has gone out on her own and now is THE time to get her to make something before she gets too busy and too well known. I am really crazy to keep bringing this up, because I haven't decided on my own setting and she may be too busy by the time I decide! Lol! But check out my thread with some of her samples. She can make anything...just give her a picture and the specs and she can give you an estimate.

bigE,

Well I''m not a Tiffany girl or anything, but I think you should check with your girlfriend on how set she is with the "Tiffany" name. I have a friend who is obsessed. She only wears jewelery from Tiffany''s and always says "It''s from Tiffany''s" And she told me that if her boyfriend bought her an engagement ring from a store other then Tiffany''s she would be devestated. So I think it''s important to make sure that she''s open to other options, you will get more bang for your buck somewhere else, but just make sure she won''t be let down.

Oh... and my ring isn''t from Tiffany''s. Although, I have to say that the ritani micropave and Michael B are my two favorites.

Good Luck!

Other than their Legacy line, Tiffany''s also carries the Etoile solitaire in pave''. It''s personally a dream ring for me. In fact, I checked on the pricing of them a couple of weeks ago, and they had a .47ct, F, VVS1 with .60ct pave'' diamonds for $7500. If that tells you anything about the price, which is a lot for a .47ct diamond.
