I had great success with everyone's advice on buying my fiancée's engagement ring and I was hoping I might be able to get some more help in regards to my wedding band.

I tried on the Tiffany Lucida band ring 4mm in rose gold and platinum and really like it. Hoping to make it my wedding band. I've attached a picture and here's the link:

I was just wondering though...are there any jewellers that would make an equivalent for less? We're based in Australia so Tiffany is pretty exxy here and I don't really want to pay for the name if possible. Or am I destined to just go with Tiffany?

Thanks in advance!

I have looked for one like this for some time...some come close but I have never been able to find one exactly like this one...I want the same ring but in yellow gold and platinum in 2mm...so I have looked quite a bit...I just cant justify paying this much for a band but this band is just so beautiful...I just love it in any size..good luck and maybe some of the wonderful people here on pricescope can find one similar to it.

Not exactly the same, but I've heard people on here say e wedding bands will make changes to a point, so it might be worth asking if you can have it thin and in rg

Tiffany seems to have perfected their bands to a science IMO - and I've owned three of theirs and my husband has one. You could probably have something made that would come close but not exact.

My thoughts on the money are this: Let's say you found someone to make a band for half - $800. You'd be saving $800. Significant yes but divide it say over 30 years that you may wear this band. Comes out to about $27 a year. When you look at it like that, it's totally worth it to me to get the band that you really love. If it were just any piece of jewelry other than a wedding band, I'd consider a cheaper alternative. If it is something you plan to wear everyday for the rest of your life, I'd try to spring for exactly what I want now.

I agree that buying it might be the best option. Especially at the price of plat, you're not going to save that much. But I might suggest just buying it second hand. Search on eBay for a month or so until you find your size. Save a few hundred that way.

If you really want Platinum with 18kt Rose Gold, just like Tiffany's, I am thinking the Tiffany price of $1600 is probably fairly priced - meaning that if you found another vendor to make a comparative band, same dimensions and weight and similar high-quality product, it would be priced just about the same.

If you like the two tone look, there is an etsy vendor I highly recommend - Raven's Refuge - http://www.etsy.com/shop/RavensRefuge?section_id=6987682 - and they have 14kt white/rose gold or 18kt white/rose gold wedding band options - they even could provide you a quote for a Platinum/18kt rose gold band similar to the Tiffany band - just not sure once you factor in the taxes/costs associated with a US purchase being mailed to Australia you'd really be saving all that much?

Thanks everyone. I'll have a look at the sites suggested. Unfortunately here in Australia that band is priced at $2000 which is quite a large amount over our budget. I think if it were the US price we might think about it but seeing as though the US price is already a lot for us I'm not sure if we can stretch it to the Australian price.
