Hi Im on the lookout for a second hand tiffany legacy. I have come accross this on the internet, Can anyone offer me any advice on it for example does it all look good, how much to offer, etc.

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/jwl/881990719.html

Also does anyone know of anywhere else where there are second hand tiffany legacys. It has to be tiffany and not a custom.

Thanks
M

You should get it appraised BEFORE purchase to make sure it really is what they say it is. But assuming that, only you can decide what you are willing to pay. The few times I have seen used legacies they usually go for half-3/4 of retail value depending on a lot of factors.

Signed Pieces out of New York sells used Tiffany pieces and very occasionally has legacies...but it would be worth a call to them if you aren't in a hurry.

ETA: Are you local so that you could meet the person at Tiffany's and have it verified there?

I agree with nf. I''d go with signedpieces or if you are interested in that other ring that you posted, is there any chance that you could meet them at a Tiffany store so that you can have it verified?

I too am looking for a Tiffany Legacy ring and also saw the same post as you did on craigslist. I was seeing if you ever checked into the ring, as I may be interested. The posting had expired before I found it so I was unable to contact the owner. I was trying to contact you to see if maybe you had the contact info for the owner. Thanks.

Hopefully I am not violating any rules but posting here but my engagement seems to be on the rocks right now. I am trying to find somewhere to sell the Tiffany ring that I bought. The stats are: cmb 1.13 h vs1 w/42rd diamonds =.33tw and I purchased it for almost $18k. Any suggestions on where I should go to look for a buyer? Is Craiglist a good way to go? I haven''t used it and am not sure if I trust it. I am also leery about having people come to my house to look at the ring, especially since she still lives here. That''s another issue though.

I''d contact someone like Signed Pieces that might buy it from you.

Wake, you can't offer to sell it here, but as Erica mentioned, Signed Pieces does buy used Tiffany pieces as do other estate dealers. You can also try craigslist or ebay. Are you within a short time period from when you bought it? Tiffany's does have a broken engagement policy, so it is worth calling them to find out about it.

You might want to call T&Co. because I think they have a "broken engagement" policy of some sort. If you explain it to them, they can tell you what your options are with them. That would be my first call.

Sorry if I violated rules. Still trying to figure out what to do. I''ll try Tiffany''s first and see where that goes.
