I am getting engaged and have narrowed down between the classic Tiffany 6 prong setting and the Tiffany Harmony ring. I am getting a one carat as I do not want it to be flashy. I cannot decide between the two and would love some input about what vibe each ring gives and just overall opinions! I truly love them both equally and every time I think I have a preference, I switchScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.17.49 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.18.02 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.18.13 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.18.41 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.19.02 PM.pngScreenshot 2025-08-25 at 12.19.10 PM.png

What a lovely conundrum to have! They both look beautiful on you. I personally think the classic Tiffany 6 prong setting makes the stone appear a little larger and more round. The Harmony style is pretty also. I’m no help at all!

If I were buying a Tiffany engagement ring today, I would definitely go with their classic setting - six prongs on knife edge band. I too think it makes the diamond appear larger and looks like the diamond is floating above the finger. It is classic and timeless and somehow reiterates the Tiffany brand to me. I guess I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to iconic jewelry pieces.
Keep us posted and please come back with pictures of whichever design you choose! Exciting stuff!

Edited to add: just went to Tiffany website. They used to show some of their size, color and clarity combinations set in their engagement rings. They aren’t doing that anymore and they invite you to call them for info and appointment. Did you have to make an appt to see certain size and color selections?

I love the little wider band of the Harmony, but love a round in six prongs. Too bad they can't "marry" (see what I did there?) the two styles.

You will never go wrong with the classic knife edge 6 prong. It’s always in style and majority of wedding bands look beautiful with it.

Are the diamonds the same carat weight in the two rings you tried on?

6 prong setting.

(Show me the Bling forum is meant for showing off our rings/bling.)

HI:

No wrong answer here. But I have the classic setting and I LOVE it, timeless and so recognizable.

If I went for a wider band it would be with the Lucida but I don't think that is an option.

Let us know what pretty you end up with!!!!!

cheers--Sharon

HI:

I don't wear jewellery to bed. And no issues with snagging clothing.

cheers--Sharon

Definitely 6 prong classic setting!

There are certain styles of Rolex watches that scream Rolex. They have some other models which might suit others aesthetics. However, if I am wearing a Rolex, I want it to look like a classic Rolex. I feel the same way about the classic Tiffany setting. Recognition of the name brand is important if you are choosing the name brand. Just my two cents!

I’m a classic girlie - I don’t love the harmony… but that’s just me. They are both beautiful. Enjoy!

Thanks for your input. Would you mind elaborating on why you don't feel the harmony is classic? :) Im going back and forth

At the end of the day you have to be happy and love your ring. The 6 prong is a classic and will always be in style. Its has the understated old money elegance. The harmony is pretty, but doesn’t have the presence that the knife edge does. I’d save the harmony for a birth stone or anniversary down the road. That way you’ll have both.

I’m sensing that you maybe leaning more towards the Harmony. Remember, when you ask others for opinion's it’s only their opinion. This is your ring. Listen to your gut and heart and you will make the right choice for you! ❤️ Don’t feel swayed by our comments.

Funny, I am actually leaning slightly towards the classic 6 prong. I love them both, so I am interested to hearing opinions

Recognition of the name brand is the least important thing to me, in fact could be a deterrent as I love to be understated. I do however, love a classic piece and want to pick the most timeless, elegant option

I prefer the look of the classic six prong. To my eye, I don’t like how the wider band looks coming into the center stone like it’s pinched. It takes away the beauty of the piece to me.

Decision made, the classic Tiffany 6 prong knife edge is the clear choice then! Please post your ring when you receive it!

If you are not concerned about the brand, I would then suggest you look at other diamond suppliers. Tiffany is famous for outrageous markup for their brand and you can find excellent cut quality diamonds for much less. Just as an example there is this diamond in a carat range, F, VS1. Compare the price to what you might pay at Tiffany. https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...-vs1-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4724220
Vatche makes this setting https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...-solitaire-engagement-ring-by-vatche-1778.htm which is about as close to the Tiffany setting as you can get.
Just as a comparison to the prices you might pay at Tiffany - particularly if having that brand name doesn't matter to you. A ring from Tiffany can be very special indeed but many have chosen to spend their money on top cut quality for much less money.

If that’s the case, why are you shopping at Tiffany? You could get the classic look you are going for with a super ideal cut diamond from Whiteflash or Brian Gavin Diamonds. Right now you are paying for the Tiffany name but if you don’t care about that why pay for it???

Having the brand name does matter to me, having other people know I am wearing a brand, does not. I am not asking for alternatives and quite frankly I am not concerned with how others choose to spend their money:)
