Tried to copy the fb photo, wouldn't let me. I'll see if I can find a stock photo that looks like it. His post said he will not accept fb messages, only calls on his landline, which are hidden. I think I can figure out how to call him.

These rings used are ~ $1,300 all over.

I’m a little wary of Facebook marketplace. Is it sketchy that he only allows phone calls and doesn’t list the number?

You'd have to fly to Wisconsin to buy it. Public exchange w/ cash only.

Yeah I don’t know, something feels off about this to me. I would pay the extra $300 and buy from somewhere else, some place that is more familiar with a return policy to be on the safe side.

I'd meet in front of a police station for items that are high value imo.

That looks like someone's stock photo and not an amateur's photo of his grandfather's ring. He has a ring holder and all-white background -- but can only take a low-res image?

That, plus the "you can only call my landline during a full moon" vibe would be a hard pass for me.

My take is that he doesn't want to be hounded because of the word "Tiffany." But caution from any viewpoint is warranted in all these types of transactions.
