Tiffany Embrace or Soleste?

I recently purchased a preowned Tiffany Soleste cushion cut, double halo ering. Stats are: 1.02 center stone, E, VVS2, total carat weight 1.40. I am torn between the Soleste eternity band, .34 tcw, or the shared prong Embrace eternity band, .86 tcw. I also tried the diamond v band with it which sits flush with the ering but I really don’t like the v rings. They have the chance of spinning and that is totally annoying to me. My avatar photo shows my ring with the Soleste band and I am attaching photos with the Embrace and also the v ring.

My favorite is the Embrace because it looks fabulous when worn alone. I would love some feedback, please.

Sorry for the double posting of the photos. Also, I realized that I didn’t take a photo of the diamond v ring; only the plain platinum version but you can see that it sits flush. Both the Embrace and Soleste bands have a gap which I actually like. I think it allows the ering to shine on its own. FYI, the lighting was not the best in Tiffany’s yesterday so you really can’t see the amazing sparkle in the bands.

HI! :wavey:
Congrats on your ring! It's gorgeous. I love the double halo Soleste setting.
Both bands look great with it but I personally like the matching Soleste better. I'm a "matchy matchy"
jewelry person. However you can't go wrong with either one!

Well I love ANYTHING from Tiffany, but I would have to vote Soleste. I am a huge Embrace fan & it's on my wish list, but with your stunning engagement ring, I think the matching band looks perfect.

Thanks for the feedback! I changed from a non-Tiffany 1.40 brilliant cut solitaire to the Soleste. I have always wanted this ring!

I would recommend that you visit T&Co. again and try the soleste diamond V band, which is different than the v band style that you tried on. I actually have said band, here is a pic:

ETA: the embrace while lovely on its own, will eat into your e-ring basket and damage the setting over time because the diamonds on the band are exposed. If you select that one, I’d wear it separately or with a spacer.

Your set is stunning!!! Thanks for your input. I have read on PS about that happening to people. I will definitely go back and try it on again.

Thank you, really not the best pic, but wanted to show you the difference. I had a straight band for a bit and even that kept cutting into the basket, which I didn't enjoy, but you might not care as much. Obviously, get what makes you happy!

Congratulations on upgrading to your dream ring!

I would have to agree that if you’d like to wear the Embrace it’s best to use a spacer band otherwise the diamonds will eat into your e-ring prongs.

So if you’re between the soleste or embrace I would see if you would be okay to add an extra thin band between the embrace and your e-ring and see if you like how that looks.

Alternatively you could always get both (one now and one later) depending on your current budget and mix and match to your mood!

Personally I can’t commit to one look forever so I enjoy mixing and matching. I do wear my embrace band mostly on my right hand by itself though.

You can’t go wrong either way. Congrats again!

Thanks for your advice! I did purchase the Soleste straight band after speaking with a diamond expert at Tiffany‘s. Interestingly enough, she advised me that the Soleste v band wasn’t recommended for the cushion cut Soleste ring but for other Soleste styles. Also, since there is a slight gap between the ering and band, I am not worried about the band eating the ering as the setting on the Soleste is very high.

Went back to Tiffany’s to try on the Soleste v diamond band. Here is a photo. FYI, the diamond specialist did not recommend the v band for the cushion Soleste. She recommended the straight band and said the v band was designed for other Soleste shapes. It fits well with my ring but you can see a tiny bit of the v showing at the bottom.

FWIW, I love the plain platinum band! It lets your Soleste ering be the star, while diamond bands tend to create the illusion of one thick diamond band (instead of 2 distinct rings).

I did end up purchasing the matching Soleste eternity straight band. I feel like the gap between the two rIngs does allow my Soleste ering to be seen. I am looking at getting the Embrace band to wear by itself when I don’t want to wear my Soleste set. Since I am getting it to wear alone, I am looking at a larger Embrace; .91, 3.5 mm. The eBay vendor I purchased my Soleste ering from has one in stock as well as another eBay vendor. I always like to have option! Beautiful! I also love the gap between the rings; my current set sits flush because my jeweler recommended so that the diamonds don’t rub against each other but after some time I realized it’s not what I really wanted. Hope I’ll be able to reset my e-ring at some point.

Beautiful choice!

UPDATE: Yesterday I went back to Tiffany’s to try on the Embrace 3mm eternity band for a right hand ring. I still was lusting after the Embrace after having purchased the Soleste band and wearing it for a few weeks. They also had The smaller, .86 2.2 mm Embrace eternity band in stock and I had to see it again with my Soleste ering and I still loved it! So, the SA asked me how long I had had the Soleste band and very quickly told me I could trade up for the Embrace if I wanted to. I was really shocked considering I purchased it on Black Friday last November and their policy is normally 30 days for a return or exchange. Without even thinking about it I said YES! I am in love with this set. He did not see a problem with the prongs hitting the underside of my Soleste band because of the strength of the platinum. Also, I love the Embrace because it looks substantial by itself where the Soleste band did not hold its own without the ering.

Thanks for everyone who gave me their input!

The above sentence concerns me slightly, as prongs will chew into any metal they are grinding against over time, regardless of what they are made from & a million people on here will agree with me - we've mostly all sadly experienced it first hand. Sounds like Sales patter from the rep, which is poor form, as ultimately it will lead to re-build or re-set down the line if the prongs are not buffered apart. You may want to think of putting a skinny knife edge plain band between the two rings?

But it will take many years of wear to chew, so enjoy those beauties & please PLEASE post close up pictures? Honestly, I dribble over the Embrace. It's screams classic Tiffany :kiss2:

My new band is shown with my Soleste in my updated avatar photo. I will post more photos tonight when I get home and I have better lighting. The sparkle factor in the Embrace is amazing and the band is so comfortable! I am almost 60 so I am not too concerned about the prong issue at my age but I appreciate the advice. The Embrace band with my Soleste really makes my cushion cut diamond pop!
