Tiffany & Co price adjustments (meaning price hikes...)

I purchased my 3mm diamond half circle wedding band at Tiffany last year for 4575, and when I looked at the website today, the price has adjusted to 4850. That's a nearly 6% increase. Does anyone know if this is due to diamond prices going up? Or just normal adjustments due to inflation? I know there are regular adjustments to luxury goods like watches or expensive handbags, but I'm wondering if this is a retail adjustment or a market adjustment.

It's my understanding that they increase prices every 6-12 months regardless of the market.

Other high end jewellers have also increased their prices by 6% in 2012 so it doesn't suprise me at all, probably due to the increase of precious metals and inflation...

All in all that gives us another "good" reason not to delay our bling purchases too long
