THREE STONE

I''m looking for a mounting for three stone round. Preferably with room for an 8MM center with 6MM sides. (yes, 4 carats of FANTASTIC BLING!). The diamonds are OEC (currently at GIA) so something with engravings are ok.. either 18KT yellow gold, or platinum (haven''t decided). I really like Dandi (?) "stuller looking" heads. Or something with hearts... Any ideas!??

To help narrow things down, would you consider custom? Is there a strict budget?

I'm unsure what constitutes a Stuller-style setting but it's kind of tough to find a non-custom 3 stone setting that will accomodate side stones of the size I'm estimating yours to be compared to the center stone. It sounds like they might be a 2 carat center with 1 carat sides?

Whiteflash has a few nice ones:
W-Prong 3 Stone Setting
Antique-Style 3-Stone Ring (would look nice with your OEC's)
U-Prong with Surprise Diamonds

They are made to accomodate smaller stones though. However, Whiteflash does custom work so perhaps that would be a route to go.

Well, if I had 3 lovely (and large!) OEC''s with no particular budget, I would personally be looking at these jewelers for custom ideas. They could do wonderful things with those stones...

Engraving makes me think of Van Craeynest.

I''ve heard great things about Maytal Hannah.

Single Stone is great, but rather pricey.

And BGD could definitely do something lovely while being more budget friendly. When you said hearts, it made me think of this ring they made, though I''m not sure where you were thinking of them in relation to the ring. I''ll post a pic, and the thread it came from. It''s Billy Rosewood''s.

Thanks for posting that Ellen, I couldn''t remember for the life of me where I''d seen hearts on a ring and that was the one I was thinking of! So pretty.

Also, Beverley K does some rings with hearts on the baskets, like this one:

I know it''s not a 3-stone band but it''s a thought for the center setting since you can go custom.
