I am driving myself...and probably some of you guys ;)...crazy. I just don't really know what I want. I do know that I want a change...and I want more bling. I have a 1.30 round solitaire. I am the kind of person who wants to wear both my rings and don't want my ering in a drawer somewhere. I have a great quality stone but wish it was a bit larger but I don't think my husband will go for an upgrade at this point...and to tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to spend that money either. So I'm thinking maybe if I added two diamonds to make it a three stone, I would feel that it changed and upgraded that ring. I also would like an eternity band but not sure if that would be too much together. I would wear it everyday no matter what (that's how I am!).

If you were to do what I "might" want to do, how big of side stones would you add to a 1.30 solitaire and how many carats on the eternity band. I really liked the look of the 3 carat ;).

A popular version of a three stone ring is to have the sidestones one half the size of the center - in your case, .65 on each side of the 1.30. However, several of us have chosen to have smaller ratio sidestones along side the center stone to be accents.

My three stone ring has a 2.22 center stone with .33 each sidestones. It all depends on whether you want a traditional look to a three stone ring or whether your just want to compliment your center stone.

In my case, I tried on many diamond bands but found them all to be too overwhelming to the three stone ering. Instead, I opted for a thin gold band with a few scattered diamonds.

It's all personal preference and there are lots of combinations to consider. Best bet is to vist a few jewelry stores to try on some three stone rings to find out what your size preferences are. You'll also have to decide if you want a solitaire with an eternity band or a three stone with a plain band or perhaps you'd love the look of a three stone ring and an eternity ring.

Happy shopping - let us know what you find!

Thank you! I change my mind everyday so I might end up with something totally different. I will definitely hit some more stores to see if I can get inspired.

That is your best bet - the choices are endless but sooner or later you'll hone in on what really appeals to you!

Hi birthdaygirl! :wavey:

I wear my 3 stone with an eternity ring, although my diamonds are alot smaller (.39, .77, .39), and my eternity ring is 2.20ct. I wear a spacer in between and feel this is just right, perhaps a smaller eternity would suit your future 3 stone better? Where sidestones are concerned I like the ratio where each sidestone is half the size of the centre, myself!

DaniAndi, I love your rings. They look wonderful. I really like the gold bands with the eternity ring and your 3-stone is perfection. YUM!

This is my set. Center stone=2.00ct and 7.3mm, side stones are .30 and .31. Eternity is BGD's bezel with .15 stones. I really like the dainty eternity with my ering!
