So, @soxfan posted an amazing three stone OEC diamond ruby target ring on the "post your vintage ebay watch items" and I kept going back to it. I just couldn't resist!
I was wondering if the experts can share their thoughts? I'm curious if it's a reproduction or original (fine either way)?
How do you tell if the rubies are natural or synthetic? Some of them have florescence.
How to tell of it's diamond? One side diamond has florescence and two of the tiny ones have florescence. My tester is busted and the bezel setting makes it difficult to see from the side.
I'll see if I can somehow get my jeweler to have a look at it (I'm in NY) but the place is probably closed.

Wow beautiful! I love the red of that ruby!!!

Oh pretty! It looks really good for its age, but I think it's original, just a guess though. Maybe the person who wore it before was super careful with it. Either way, great find!

The seller said that she inherited it so she doesn't know so I'm curious.

It is stunning! I love the way the rubies swoop around in a continuous line, little adorable frenchies, like a kick line at the Moulin Rouge.

What a beautiful find! Looks authentic to me and so gorgeous on you! Enjoy!

Wow the color of those rubies is so rich. What a gorgeous ring! It looks beautiful in photos with the movement.

The diamonds look like authentic old cuts to me. Great find!

I took photos under my 10x and 40x loupes. Also one of the diamonds is phosphorescent, it's so awesome!
10x Loupe:

GORGEOUS!!! I really like the patterning of the milgrain in the ruby swirls. Classic but unique!

Uhhhh! That is gorgeous!

Wowza - what a treasure! I LOVE this - looks like it was made for your finger.

It is absolutely beautiful!!! Love it so much. I would bet money that those diamonds are genuine. They sure look real to me! Rubies are a little trickier, only because it was pretty common to use synthetic gemstones back in the day. Hard to tell by a pic, a jeweler will be able to tell you I think. Honestly, it wouldn't matter to me, this ring is a winner!!!

Thank you!
I'm pretty sure the diamonds are real since the facets are clear, they sparkle the same way my other old cuts do, there is some girdle damage/imperfections that are hard to see (bezels are thin so I can see some of it under the loupe), and some of the diamonds have Florescence and Phosphorescence (which is rare and so cool).

Beautiful ring! As long as you paid a reasonable price I wouldn't worry if it was natural rubies or not. Wear and enjoy!

Yeah, I did. I'm just curious to learn what I can about it hahaha.

It’s beyond gorgeous! I’m in love!
