Does anyone know if there is a guide for the proper stone size and balance? For instance, with a 2 carat center what size sides would be appropriate?

Here is a guide from DeBeers I think that shows the various ratios...I personally like something like a 2c center with .50c side each or something, where the center stone can still really shine!
