Is the H and A cut really that much more noticable in performance? You can buy similar diamonds for around 20-24000 without all of these reports. I may return a diamond I got that has specs of:
2.05 H, VS1
8.19-8.22-5.01
Excellent in all GIA categoreis
No flor.
Table: 57
Crown Angle: 35
Pavillion Angle: 40.6
61 depth
15 crown depth
42.5 pavillion depth
thin to medium faceted
for 22,900.

I personally probably wouldn''t because the extra cost is so much and your stone already should be an excellent performer. But that being said, I know others really want the H&A pattern and will pay for it. So I think it''s a personal preference ultimately...

I can actually see the pattern with my own eyes; especially when my head blocks the above lighting. The stone has good contrast and the dark facets shine intensely in diffuse lighting outside. I am just trying to figure out how much more the eye can see and discern.... I have never seen an H&A stone....

I don''t know all the outer boundaries, but I DO know that your stone falls within them.

Both are gorgeous stones!!!! I would pocket the 2k and put it into a killer setting. I think you would be very happy either the performance of either.

Can you really tell the difference in a H&A stone perfomrance wise when compared to AGS ideal stones?

The pattern of the facets will look a bit different, but personally I don''t think the light return is very different.

Thanks for the info. I don''t mind spending 30000 for a diamond that will outperform but I want to know it will before I return my current stone. I don''t even think an H Vs2 would be apraised for 30000. This is such a dilema. At least the post office is closed tomorrow with the holiday si I have another day to think about this.
