Thoughts on this stone?

Did you check with the Vendor about the bow tie effect and crushed ice effect?

The Bow-tie Effect refers to a shadow that can be seen in some Fancy shaped diamonds, such as Marquise, Pear and Oval (there is a similar effect found in the Heart shape, but it is not actually a bow-tie). As the name implies, the shadow looks like a bow-tie, seen across the middle of the diamond, or east to west when looking down on the diamond's table. This can have a negative impact on the overall beauty of the diamond, but it is not necessarily so. I think this diamond has a very prominent bow tie which might be a problem.

Strange as I have seen bow tie in Marquise, oval & pear shape diamonds but this is the 1st time I’ve seen such a prominent bow tie in cushion shape diamond.

I would also check the Depth & Table percentage of the diamond. The basic table and depth range for Cushion cuts should be 54-62 % table and 59-64% depth & Girdle – Medium or Thin to Thick Faceted

Sakari,
You cannot buy cushions by the numbers. The B2C cushion is from a drop shipper who is unlikely to provide pictures and ASET. And who knows if the SI1 is eye clean.

Last time when I bought diamond from B2C, they gave me several options and for some diamonds they did provide me with idealscope, Aset image and for few they did not. Not only the image, the feedback which I got from their gemologist was the exact which my local jeweler gave me after I showed him the diamond. They were very transparent enough and they also provided me with free appraisal and I dont think any drop shippers can provide you with free appraisal.

It's good to know that B2C will provide an IS and ASET. Out of curiousity, why did some get the tests and some did not? What do you mean by transparent enough? All diamonds are transparent. I also do not put any stock in appraisals done by the seller because the GIA lab memo tells you the same thing with more authority / weight.

What I meant about being transparent, was about the information (feedback from their gemologist) which they provided to me on all the diamonds.

Understood. I had a suspicion I was not intepreting your meaning correctly and I wasn't. :))

I think it looks pretty good. It may have a little bit of a darker area North/South in the picture (E/W in the Aset) but
I didnt really notice it in the pictures in that other thread. Can they do a video for you? That might help you decide.
