strmrdr,
The stone originally posted here was purchased by myself about 2 weeks ago for the fiance.
congrates :} its a kicken diamond
I did not know it was still on the GOG website. It is currently in the hands of MM being set, and I hope to have it very soon.
cant wait for pictures.. hint hint :}
I found GOG to be great to deal with. As much as I did to educate myself, there is only so much I could learn in my 3 months looking for a stone. The reason I chose GOG was beecause after meeting them, I felt I could trust them. I was not sure I would get the best deal, but I knew I would get a fair deal, and that the stone they sold me would be of high quality..I asked them straight out...what is the best stone you have for x dollars. I looked at three, and picked this one. I would have preferred a VS1 over VVS1 but it is very tough to find a stone of this cut in this size. On a lighter note, she is an eye surgeon, and has some lens of 75x for looking into the back of the eyeball. I am sure her colleagues will put it to the test, but I was reallyjust looking for eye clean.
kewl, its perfectly valid to go a little higher clarity to get the cut you want. Its all about priorities and it is certainly a kicken diamond
A few things about the stone...It actually IS an Isee2 stone, and is graded by GIA.
interesting they used to use a little different formula for cutting them. So there is a third cutter of GOG classics now. Learn something new every day :} unless isee2 changed cutters which is possible too.
Wonder which it is hmmmmmmmmm
Going to get harder to tell them apart.
It is an H with med FL, and I could not tell the difference between an equivalent cut F and this H even side by side. Could I have seen the diff with a D side by side?? Maybe. But it is damn white even before being set.
H is kewl, no explanation needed :}
I looked at a solasfera, and an * star at another jeweler. As well as the Simon G lumiere. The 8 star looked great, but for the same price i would have settled with an SI1 in a G 1.58. I could not compare side by side, but Ithought this Isee2 looked a little better than the 8 star. When I looked at the 8star, i could only compare it to some average cut stones.
kewl
I am sure this stone will look outstanding in the MM setting, and I can not wait to get it. My fiance has no idea, and though she grew up in the town over from MM I do not think she know of him...However that will soon change......I appreciate the thoughts on the stone.
she will love it :}

Just the simple sunburst solitaire by Mark. simple, pure and classy. I think it will show of this rock quite nicely. Like I said, she's a physician, I did not want anything to lavish.....
I see. (pun intended!) Thanks for the clarification!Date: 6/27/2006 4:56:24 PM

''The Isee2 diamonds can''t be sold on the internet, so he can''t put any of those on the site. I am considering one.''
he can list them on the site, as long as they aren''t labeled ISEE2. People on this board have bought diamonds from GOG and have found out after the fact that it was an ISEE2 diamond. I believe if you call and ask they can even tell you over the phone, but my understanding is that ISEE2 doesn''t want it in print with a price, as it would probably upset many of the B&M stores who have a higher markup.
I seriously cannot think of anything more perfect that an outstanding diamond set in a MM solitaire. To me, that is the ultimate in good taste. I can''t wait to see the pictures!Date: 6/28/2006 2:11:54 PM

It is an Isee2 branded stone. It looks beautiful on its own, and I think will be stunning in the MM solitaire. I initially was going to do a three stone setting, and actually purchased a platinum ring with 2 trillium? stones. you know, the triangular shaped ones. That was early on, before I really looked into things. My initial plan was to purchase off bluenile with a center 1.6 ct stone, the side stones have a st of .56, and i thought there would be more bling. However, I could not envision placing the stone I purchased next to anything inferior. The more i looked into the setting, the more i was intent on placing it in a MM setting. I think no matter how good the side stones are, they will take away from the beauty of this stone. I hope to have it by the 15th, and I''ll set up a pic as soon as i have it.
I absolutely agree. It''s what I would have done, had time and money not been an issue, but they were.Date: 6/28/2006 2:14:44 PM
