Well, its an AGS000 so it should be pretty nice. I cant really see the numbers on the report. Can you type them out
(depth, table, crown, pavilion). Should be fine though.

edit...just looked at JA. $20k for that stone out the door seems like a very good price. JA has an ulgy 2.65 for about $20k.

I hope the stone turns out to be what you expect. It is returnable if not right?

It wouldnt work in HCA tool
Table 56.9%
Depth 61.9%
Crown angle - 35.2
Pavilion angle - 41.1

I ran it through HCA using the above and I'm getting a score of 3.4 - Light return and spread are very good, and Scintillation and fire are good,

hope this helps

The stone has already been graded for light performance by AGS, so using the HCA isn't necessary.

So the AGS light performance score is a good enough indicator?

I was not sure which was more reliable between AGS and the HCA indicator test

I would have to have an ideal scope image on a stone with these angles. There is such thing as an AGS 0 with some leakage. It is probably not bad, but I'd want an idealscope image on almost any round stone, regardless. And moreso with this one.

I completely agree with DS about getting an IS image. HCA can only predict a stones likely light performance based on 4 angles, it's not supposed to be a green light to purchase the stone, and neither is the fact that it's an AGS ideal. I should have clarified that since AGS has already physically evaluated the stone and it's light performance their assessment trumps the HCA, but this isn't to say that you shouldn't ask for an IS image. There does appear to be some AGS0 stones that show some amount of leakage, it's hard to say if this leakage would be visible to the human eye, but if it's there, I would certainly want to know it and be able to make a decision based on it.
