With fancy cuts you can’t go by the numbers. They must be judged with the eyes: when you look at the video you want the facets to turn on and off down the length of the diamond. The round end should look like half a round cut diamond and smoothly join the straight sides without looking like shoulders. The straight sides should not bulge or dip in and come to a symmetrical point. This kind of cut like ovals and hearts are prone to bowties(a dark band where the diamond shape is going from rounded to straight sides.) The bowtie is not always dark so you want to see the diamond at different angles and various lighting conditions. The rounder pears with short tips tend to have the lesser bowties.
Please post the desired length( don’t go by carat weight because it doesn’t always correspond to size), color, setting style and budget. We love helping others find a great diamond. Pricescope members found my antique cut pear diamond. Here is a picture of it.
