Thoughts on this Pear?

Hi all,

I've been looking at pears for a while and its safe to say it's tough work online! There have been a few instances where everything looks great until I get the ASET/Ideal scope and even myself, a complete novice, can tell they're not great (lots of white, for example when I first looked at this one only the clarity image and video were available, https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/Pear/GIA-Certified-1-63-Carat-H-Color-VS1-Clarity-Diamond-35DDT9)

I believe I've found one which is potentially what I'm looking for and wanted to run past you guys before I buy. I've been sent a clarity image and ideal scope images (not great but better than nothing and look pretty good). Personally the only thing I'm a little worried about is the bow tie - it seems to be the only area where there is some light leakage on the ideal scope and without a 360 degree photo similar to JA, tough to tell whether it's better or worse than what is shown at different angles

Let me know what you guys think. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

It has a pretty big bow-tie. It looks like it may be reflecting light (maybe) but the faceting pattern around the bow-tie
itself is not that great. You want to find a nice feathering of facets from small, to slightly bigger to
even slightly bigger and not just from small facets to big bow-tie facets.

Aset images...lets face it, aset images for pears usually well, just stink to put it politely. The one on the enchanted diamond looks
average (even though compared to the light return of a round brilliant... it would be considered terrible).

Nice pears with good asets are hard to find. They are out there but will take a while to find.

Thanks guys, I'll keep looking. Agree the middle looks quite lifeless especially compared to that JA stone tyty (it's a little small for what I'm looking for though). I've searched using the Pricescope search tool and have asked for images/ASETs for four more stones that look promising based on the specs from USA Certed (including the 1.6ct you posted Sphene, although it's listed quite a bit cheaper on B2C - is there some sort of referral discount for Pricescope there or is it just variation between vendors?). If any look promising I'll post here

All pear shape diamonds will have a bit of a bowtie. You will need to see the stone to determine the impact of bowtie. Enchanteddiamonds.com gives a cut score for their stones. This should help you to find better cut stones. If you find a pear on another website you can go to the enchanted website, input the GIA number and it will give you the cut score. Anything 85 and above should be okay. Just take your time to research, determine the l/w ratio that you prefer and then find the best cut stone you can. Good luck! I love pears and have several of them. Can't get enough!!!
