Garnet, Jasper, husky/fox - I don''t know enough about those varieties to say much. I do like the jasper though and can see why you are interested.

The spessarite - the color and brilliance seem great. I personally don''t tend to buy trillions, but if you like it, than that is great. I know people have said that these stones don''t show there potential on photo. It might be worth bringing in and looking at.

My mali garnet came from Richard at ArtCutGems and is out of this world gorgeous.

That stone looks VERY nice to me too.

The spess is also lovely - trillions aren't my favourite shape, but I did buy a rhodolite garnet recently that was a trillion and I'm rather keener on them now I've seen how incredibly sparkly they are and how well they can show colour at it's best.

I've bought quite a few different stones from ArtCutGems and been very happy with all of them. It's always worth asking Richard if you have questions - he'll give you an honest answer!

I might be tempted to ask if he has more pics of the mali just to check the main body colour. Mine is a honey colour with green when you turn it and orange flashes in daylight, in electric light it is an orange/honey colour with green flashes.

They come in lots of different shades along the greenish/yellowish/honeyish spectrum. A chartreuse green Mali is on my wish-list for 2009 if I can find the right one!

picked this up recently - this is the vendors photo, mine won't come until tuesday its a tcw of over 1 ct in mali garnents. I'm excited to see it.

ETA it's also got white topaz and is set in white gold. it's a pendant that i'm going to wear on a .09 mm singapore sparkle chain.
