Hi there.... Could anyone tell me their thoughts on this diamond?

Numbers look good. It is what is called a "Firey Ideal Cut" meaning it will excell in fire but will be a little less brilliant, especially in lower lighting environments. This may or may not appeal to you.

Beyond that, the problem with BN is that they do not have the diamond in house and so cannot provide images to verify that the diamond is well cut. Numbers only tell you so much. If you want this diamond and want to buy from them, then I would suggest you have it appraised by an independent appraiser who can assess cut quality for you to ensure it is the best stone you can get. BN has a generous return policy.

If it were me, though, I would drop to a VS2 or SI1 and go a little bigger. You pay a tonne to get above the 1.5ct mark, so I would rather go *above* above it rather than .01 above it. But that may just be me.

Lets see...

I often have trouble with BN that the links take me to a homepage, the individual diamonds aren't showing up for me unfortunately.

Lorelei-

Thanks for making those links- I just clicked on them all...and I got right to the diamond. Hmmm...Not sure why you are unable to see them-

My biggest dilemma now- is- do I look for a really really good J color or do I continue to look for an I eye-clean with a possible inclusion? I am worried that I will notice - or others would notice a J color-
However- when I looked in person at diamonds- I looked at I/J GIA stones non mounted and I could not tell a difference. Thoughts?

I often have this trouble with BN, I think it is because I am in the UK and something gets lost in the translation between BN US and BN UK.

Could you try one of the grading report links please, that might work if you posted that?

If the stones you are looking at are claimed to be H&A''s, that might be the owners version of the story (BN rarely own or see diamonds).
I doubt they will show you photo''s

I bought a J color for my e-ring and would not hesitate to do it again. The KEY is going to be cut though, and like everyone else has pointed out, blue nile cannot provide any images of the stones to ensure the quality of the cut.

Something i did, however, was search for stones using blue nile''s advanced search, and used specific criteria for the depth & table percentages. Then, i took the list of half dozen stones, sent them to whiteflash, and asked them which ones they could get. We picked one from the bunch which looked excellent as far as numbers go, and whiteflash brought it in-house, took photos, and i ended up buying that stone through them.

Hope this helps!

I would personally go for an I SI1 over a J VS because I value color over clarity.

But if you are set on buying from BN then I am not sure I would risk an SI stone, because they do not personally have the diamond in house and cannot comment on the eye cleanliness. I think they can comment on the clarity of their signature ideal line, but you pay a premium for those diamond and for that extra premium I would rather buy from a PS recommended vendor who provides more information about their diamonds and has better after-buying policies, like GOG, WF, or BGD.
