I am considering the halo setting shown in the attached pic (hopefully the upload worked...), with a similar size diamond. I really love the look of the delicate micropave halo, my only concern is that the added diameter of the halo makes the ring look too big?

also, i think of the halo as a pretty classic look, but have heard a lot of ppl refer to it as a "trend"... would you consider it to be "trendy"?

A halo is absolutely a trend...but it does have a very classic look and is lovely. They have been around for a long time but picked up popularity most recently, I think it will be around for a long, long, long while.

I love this setting. It is fantastic. What do you mean, Is it too big? It is never too big. enjoy the bling.

i don''t think that one is too big, and if you''d be going with something smaller i''m sure it would look fine, though i really like big bling!!

i think it''s beautiful, but you have to get something YOU love, so if you have reservations, keep looking until you''re sure!!

I think it''s beauiful... I love dainty halos. I also do not think it''s too big; it will definately get noticed, but is not gaudy in the least.

I LOVE the look of that ring! Yes, halos are "in" right now but probably will be for awhile. Buy what you like and you can always reset at a latter date.

I think its lovely. It won''t look too big at all.

As others have stated, while halos are in right now, they''re also a classic style that will always be wearable. As you can see from my avatar, I have an oval halo. I think you can get a lot of bang for your buck with them due to the finger coverage-not to mention the added 2-4 mm to the diameter of your stone. This is a direction I''d point someone who wanted a high quality stone that looked to be 1.5-2 cts but couldn''t afford one. Go with a 1ct with a halo and it''ll look significantly larger while still being high quality and tasteful.

I think halos have to be used in moderation however because they can look really over the top if you have a larger stone to start with.

Very pretty. I love the look of the delicate micropave halo.

I don''t think it makes the ring look too big, but this is strictly personal preference. Some rings look "too big" for me, regardless of halo/ non-halo.

Yes, halos seem to be getting popular, depending upon where you live. I''ve only seen one or two around my area but see more in larger cities, etc. I also think they are a classic style. The main consideration is if it really feels like "you" or not. I love mine and it fits me and my style. Mine is very similiar to the one you posted though I think my center stone is a bit smaller, and I don''t wear a WB with it. (WB goes on the right, left if I''m doing some activity where I would worry about micropave and leave the e-ring off.) This keeps the look simple for me and not too blingy for my personality. Good luck. Fun decision.

I love it!!! I love how thin the halo is around the stone. I think thin halos are classic, lovely, and gorgeous.

I love that ring! And yes, it''s definitely a trend. Not that a "trend" is a bad thing. Basically it just means it wasn''t in style before, and now it is. Lovely choice, though.

In response to whether halos are trendy/not trendy... I didn''t look at bridal magazines, didn''t keep up up with celebrity rings, didn''t pay attention to friends'' rings.... but when I saw this setting, I KNEW.

I just knew.</b
