Just curious to hear your opinions on this diamond....

1.05ct H SI1 $4990
Ideal Cut
GIA cert AGS 0 H&A
Depth: 60.7
Tbl: 55
6.61x6.64x4.02
Fluor: None
Pol/Sym: EX/EX
Girdle: Medium Faceted
Cutlet: None
The blemishes on the GIA cert are all toward the edges... not in the center, which makes me happy to see.

I also came across this one:
1.01 H VS2 $5054
Ideal Cut
GIA
Depth:60.1
Table:57
6.53x6.58x3.94
Fluor:None
Pol/Sym: EX/EX
Girdle: Thin faceted
Cutlet: None

Thoughts?

You haven't posted enough data. In order to give you an opinion, we need to have the crown and pavilion data which can ge obtained via Sarin or OGI report. But I can tell you that the stones you've selected are two nice candidates worthy of getting more info about their make.

I'd also make sure that the inclusions on the H/SI 1 do not break the surface.

Sometimes it's enough info, sometime's it's not.. but I've gone ahead and asked for the Sarin reports and will post them ASAP.

Thanks for the tip about the SI1... I'll definately have to check that out.

Assuming that the crown and pavillion angles are in the ideal range, you'll probably want to check if that first stone is an eye-clean SI1.

If both of those check out, I'd say go with Stone 1. I recently got an H/Si1 H&A and it is beautiful! In fact, I was walking to class yesterday and trips because I was so capitvated by it. Plus, it's a little cheaper than the second stone, and face up, if Stone 1 is eyeclean, will look pretty similar.

Since there is only a $64 difference, I would first check out the SI1 inclusions to make sure it is eye clean and the inclusions don't break the surface. If those turn out ok, I'd pick the one iwth the better crown and pavilion angle combination. Both look like good possibilities!

Let me add this one to the mix now.... it is slightly over my $5500 limit, but I ran it through Gemappraisers.com and it got the final grade of 1A.

Thoughts?
H VS2 Ideal
$5550.00
6.22 x 6.66 x 4.07
Cut: Round
Weight: 1.08 carats
Table % 55
Crown Angle 34.8
Crown Height % 15.5
Pavilion Depth % 43
Girdle Thickness Thin to Medium
Total Depth % 61.3
Polish / Symmetry: Excellent

Is it worth $5550??

It looks like a beautiful stone, but without crown and pavilion angles on the other 2, it's had to know how they compare. The price looks like it's in the ballpark -- maybe on the higher end of the range for this type of stone from internet vendors. B&M stores are typically higher due to higher overhead. There is a stone with the same dimensions (might be the same stone) for $53xx from a couple of vendors. Your vendor might price match it if it is the same. Run a search on the PS engine and see what comes up.

Oh.. good call... I found 4 exact matches (even to the GIA report #) of this diamond on other sites... 2 of them were cheaper than what I was offered by about $100. I'll definately have to get this pricematched.... I was already told they do that.

Thanks for the hot tip.. I didn't even know that search capability existed!

how about this one

http://www.niceice.com/certcopies/ags0004960809/index.htm

it scores 0.8 on the hca with ex all across the board. I might add that it has excellent spread, 6.39x6.41, making it look a lot larger for its size.

Are those mm measurements correct?

If so, this stone is a no go.

On paper, just from the info provided, I like the H/VS2 stone for just a tad more. But, if you can get the crown & pavillion angles, that may decide for you.

Good luck.

Yikes.... my blunder... it's actually 6.62 x 6.66 x 4.07

Sorry!
