Wondering if some of the PS experts can weigh-in on this diamond. It's a H&A, VVS2, but I'm a bit confused by the clarity characteristics as shown on the IGI report (photos attached). It's the exact size (to fit an existing shank), and price-point that I'm comfortable with.

In addition to the quality of the cut, my concern is the red lines plotted on the girdle. I noticed this with another H&A stone I looked at. (growth line?) Not sure if this will affect the overall beauty of the stone, or if it won't be visible to the naked eye, as it's VVS2. Any input is appreciated.

Hello, togal!
Cut precision looks fine, proportions are great, dotted circle usually denoted clouds but I wouldn't be concerned at VVS2.
It has slight blue nuance, in case you weren't aware.

Thank you for lending your expert opinion. You've helped me seal-the-deal! Am also wondering if you could weigh-in on another stone that I've chosen (and purchased, but not yet received). In case you're wondering, I'm replacing all of my moissanite with lab diamonds... I feel that diamonds are a girls' best friend... :)

I pulled the trigger on this one before asking advice...so hoping I did okay... I can still return it if it's not suitable.

Looks just fine (also a blue nuance)... definitely keep an eye out for any darkening around the crown facets like presented in the video, but I'm guessing it's likely just the way the diamond appeared in this particular photography session.

Great! Thanks! :)

Show pics when you get them! I have been on a lab buying binge lately too LOL

If the IGI grading report doesn't specify 'blue nuance', will the slight blue nuance that you're noticing be very faint? In other words, will it be an issue/detract from the beauty of the diamond?

Blue nuance is simply blue/grey tint instead of the more common yellow/brown tint. IGI notes faint blue on the reports starting from G color.

These are E/F/G colors with blue nuance on white paper in diffused sunlight. I like blue nuance in E-G color rounds, I think they look whiter in environments with warmer lighting.

I truly think it’s personal preference… it bothers me… but I’m not color sensitive at all to yellow, I actually prefer it, but I personally didn’t like the blue, you’ll just have to see how your eyes see it.

I’m sure Deja would know exactly when, but they were not putting it on the report on older ones, I think that maybe started in 2024 where they had to disclose it. Prior to that I relied on Kim and Deja !

All of those examples look beautiful to my eye. The H&A that I've ordered is graded E color and the report is dated April 2024, and makes no mention of blue nuance. I'm confident that the stone will look beautiful. The F color stone that I also ordered could be an issue...and that one I'm having set in a ring...so fingers crossed. I'm used to looking at H&A moissanite, so I have a feeling that I'm going to love the diamonds. Thanks for your help.

I agree that a warmer tint works best with yellow gold and the old European cut, as per your avatar.
