Hi all,

Been looking for a diamond for a few months now... this one came to me recently, see the GIA cert attached please.

HCA score 1.8
priced around $35k USD

Thanks in advance!IMG_1999.jpg

Specs wise looks good. Hopefully the concentration of inclusions in one area is not noticeable, and the same with the additional clouds not shown on the plot (but mentioned in the comments).

As for price, just did a quick check on James Allen for comparable stones (GIA XXX, E colour, VS2+ clarity and beginning at 2.37cts and above).

For stones without Fluor, they are starting at around $34k with similar weight (though cut is lacking on some of them). I think you may have found a good’un for that price.

Any images of the stone you have found above?

Thanks for your insight. I was cautious with this stone as their are "additional comments" on the GIA cert. I've attached the H&A photos... you can see the inclusion from top down. More noticeable from a side view in my opinion.

Appreciate any additional comments!IMG_2001.JPG IMG_2003.JPG IMG_2004.JPG

Also the H&A looks pretty symmetrical. Do you think this diamond could actually pass as a VS1?

Thanks for the suggestions KKJohnson, but none of those are colourless diamonds which is absolutely a must for me.

it looks beautiful to me! Someone is going to be VERY happy this Xmas!

What was suggested are super idea cuts so they will be white. There are more than a few people on here that have ACA's or even CBI stones that are I colored and you would never know the difference. This again is all attributed to the cut of the stones.

EDITED: if color is the most important than you have a nice size stone for the price and cut. :D

I'm with @KKJohnson in that I'm not a fan of the long lower girdle facets at 80% to have greater contrast. It is those are so long by the cleft (splits) in the hearts image. There also seems to be some misalingment in the arrows (where the shaft meets the head). The angles are pretty good and I really like the small table. It is a good size for the price. They need to review the diamond for any impact from the additional clouds.

Do you have an IS or ASET? That is important to determine the volume and distribution of light return.

.
The Hearts photo is not quite as precise as the H&A calling card implies. The Arrows shot does show perfect light return, nice pattern & such. Sum: the fault is only a fault relative to the H&A status. Why I even mention ... mostly in the honor of the H&A-s peddled around here, which would not permit themselves even this small slip WWW.

Btw. D-E/VS2-SI1 is a very nice place, IHMO ! & This one is quite a beauty, of course.

All good comments to consider, thanks all. Definitely not a small amount of money so want to consider everything beyond the 4c's! For what the 4 C's are telling me though, I thought the price was attractive. I have less than 24 hours to get back to the dealer :)

and I do not have a IS or ASET for this stone unfortunately.

LGF at 80 should result in smaller flashes of light compared with LGF at 75. I’d personally prefer 75, but that’s me.

For the price you’ve been quoted, it looks to be a decent buy IMHO. Obviously if you can get a few more bucks off it, so much the better.

Good luck with the purchase!

The first two reddish shots you have posted, are an IS shot, IHMO. (not post-processed in a cartoonish image, for once !)

I could not quite 'beat' the price you have: there are a few D-E/VS listed around that number - give or take less than 2K, but all with slightly less spread (mm of diameter) and no IS (it seems impossible to get them within your time constraints & not terrifically worth thr trouble). One 1.6cts D/VS1 with strong blue fluorescence seemed interesting (at JA), if you happen to like fluorescence.

Sum: you have my vote for the diamond you have 8for what my vote doesn't matter ...)
