So the jeweller I sent my stone to has come back with a design for me. I have a limited budget and he is very kindly reusing some old broken gold jewellery I had to offset the cost

I have attached the design and a picture of my stone it is quite a deep stone.

any thoughts? I really love the side profile I did like the idea of diamonds around the aquamarine but he thinks it would take up too much of my finger and that this more streamlined designed will showcase the stone better the stone is almost 9 carats

it will be in platinum as well my ring size is about 7.5

I really like it, the tab prongs on the corners will really emphasis the shape of the stone.

It’s gorgeous. I’m just concerned about how thin the gallery is.

Thanks for the feedback :)

The original design had a halo and while I originally wanted one the more I looked online the more I enjoyed them without the halo. My eyes always seemed to be drawn to the halo and not the stone. I do want sparkle though.

He has mentioned the stone is quite deep I am not sure if there are benefits to this (I can imagine a shortcoming is it does not face up as large?)

I think the gallery is the pointed part under the stone ? Sorry complete novice to this. Would there be an issue with it breaking if it was too thin? I definitely don’t want it looking too chunky but if there was a serious issue I would be happy to mention it to the jeweller.

I mentioned I wanted to tabs/bars as slim as possible. I did have someone mention this may make the stone less secure. Something flike the below image I was hoping for in terms of their size would this be ok? I have sent to the jeweller to ask his opinion as I am sure he would be able to advise me the best having the stone to hand.

I like the design, very simple yet elegant.

As the stone is quite deep, it could benefit from some fancy detailing in the gallery. They may not suit your current ring design, just some ideas for inspiration.

I believe a small diamond or CS like the first pic would work well with your ring design.

Looking forward to see pics of the finished ring.

Thanks DK love the small coloured stone detail.

I am not sure my budget will stretch to additional stones he is adding smaller diamonds as per the image but it is certainly something to think about.

How cool is it of your jeweler to take these pictures?
Awesome experience!

I know I am saving them all he may even post a video to his Instagram at some point

More updates !! As a travel agent at the
Moment I need all the cheering up I can get.

Claws to be out way back and it will be “covered in diamonds” the jeweller said

This is so awesome. I love being able to see the process and I think it's incredibly great that the jeweller/bench is taking the time to take extremely clear and detailed pictures.

He has been awesome he said he will also be adding a video and Instagram pics to his page later this week. He said he thinks it will be a very special piece especially once it is covered in diamonds

Hi all

I hope everyone is staying as safe and sane as possible given the awful world situation. I do love coming in here while I am on lockdown to have my spirits lifted by all the lovely sparkly jewels.

I said I would keep people that were interested updated on the progress. Just got a couple more images to share. The jeweller has been in lockdown but said he will be spending time on it this weekend. I lost my job during the week but had saved the money to get this done and I will be looking at it as my way of helping small business stay afloat.

So sorry to hear about your job. This is such a difficult time for everyone.

Your ring already looks amazing!!! What a gorgeous stone and design. It will give you comfort to wear this ring on your finger. It has the colour of calming water

Sadly a halt has been called on the progress as the diamond setter has left his workshop to go into self isolation. He may set up a workshop at home but that remains to be seen.

Thanks for the good wishes on the job situation.

Thanks our government has a package for those stood down but not those let go. Only get payments if you are kept on the books so here is hoping they offer to put me back on
