Thoughts on this cushion cut

That would be considered a crushed ice cushion and its not returning light very well.

Are you looking for a crushed ice cushion or any type of cushion in particular?

Hello, I was looking at the "chunky," but having difficulties finding one (and within budget).
Is crushed ice frowned upon?

What are your spec preferences and budget? What kind of setting is this going into? Elongated or square?

Throwing a few out there:

My fav: i think this will be eye clean. def worth asking. Beautiful antique style cut, great face up for the weight - actually bigger than the modern stones i am posting below

Square shape, if you like this one see if it's eye clean- i think it may be. Not as big face up as the one you selected but that one was slightly elongated which helped. Nice modern cut.

Smaller facets but still fairly sharp, a really clean SI1. Similar face up size to the last.

It's better than the first on you posted. Lots of green...would like to see more red. Your budget is
a bit tight for a well cut 8.2 length in a high color. You might try contacting Yuketiel at ID Jewelry.
He can do asets and is pretty good at coming up with stone that fit into tight specs.

Thanks tyty333 for the recommendation! Yuketiel at ID Jewelry was great. Picked this stone - thoughts? unnamed.jpg ASEET.jpg

Its not bad (but not the best I've seen). Can he do a video for you?

The right hand side is looking a little weak compared to the left. The center is going to be bright but you can see there will be a mushy area
just inside the table (this is typical but we like it to be minimized). Its certainly the best you have posted so far. I would like to see a video to
see how it looks as it moves.

If you look at this stone as an example you can see how the nice center facets go out further towards the edge of the table and minimize the
"mushy" area. The stone is out of budget though.:(

Not an expert, but I love chunky facet cushions:love:

I agree with Tyty. Not finding anything in your budget right now that meets your criteria and I think that you can do better than the selections that you mentioned. It might require a little patience though. Are you in a time-crunch?

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.01-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-sku-213439, this has potential if eye-clean, but smaller than you wanted.

https://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond...-H-VS1-diamond-stock-11505-cert-1040384340005 - Again smaller than you wanted but gorgeous stone. (look at the ASET for this diamond, that is what you are looking for lots of saturated red and green with minimal white areas.)
