Hi guys. Just received this CAD from HPD, and wanted people's thoughts given my inexperience before the final sign-off!

Was going for a classic 6 prong.

Thanks!CAD.jpg HPD.jpg HPD 2.jpg

We haven't really talked about band sizes, but the SO did mention she prefers a low setting.

Would love people's insights and I feel as every step of the engagement ring shopping process requires a new layer of knowledge.

This is such a great setting! Classic and timeless...but I may be biased since mine is very similar. A lot of preferences are just a matter of personal taste, but I would personally want the prongs to be softened (they look rather large and harsh) and the 2.28mm width closer to a 2mm max since I find a thinner width band puts the focus on the diamond and makes it appear larger :wink2:. I think the setting height looks good, especially since you mention she prefers a lower setting. Of course, anything too low limits you to bands that are very low profile or you will have to use a spacer or have a gap. Some people are fine with spacers and/or gaps, others prefer the band to abut the e-ring. And anything too high will accommodate more band styles without the need for a spacer or gap, but the diamond gets banged around a bit more. If you prefer not to use a spacer or have a gap, you may want to ask what height band would sit next to this e-ring without a gap. Good luck!

What kind of prongs did you want? The top has claw prongs and the lower one has slightly wider ones. I agree with @Kaycee2018 that the prongs looks thicker, but that seems to flow with the wider prongs.

If you are going for a Tiffany 6-prong, this looks about right in terms of height and thickness. But, I personally prefer when the shank narrows at the top (usually called a reverse taper). Just an option.

Gotcha, i see what you mean by the different prongs. I was aiming more of a tiffany look, would that be the claw prongs?

Tiffany have a rounded tip. The swoops of the prongs are more like the claw prong example, but the tips are rounded like below. I'm pretty sure that the CAD needs thinning of the swoops, but seems to show the rounded tips. But, its just good to ask.
