Thoughts on this Asscher?

Hi Everyone,

I came across this engagement ring online. I hate to speak ill of someone else's ring but I feel like this could be a good learning experience.

What is going on in this asscher? Is it poorly cut? It is just a bad angle? I saw the picture and I was very confused.

Would love to hear some thoughts.

No. That's the only one I've seen of this particular ring.

Not sure that I'd trust that then....It has a lot of darkness in the center and the facet structure doesn't look that good...at least from that angle...What's your budget for the stone? And what size are you looking for?

Oh no. I'm not considering this stone. It's just someone's I saw online.

I'm just trying to ascertain what's going on with the stone and why it looks so dark.

it might just be me but it looks like it has a very large table

I'd also want to see more pics taken in more environments and lighting, but if I had to make a call using only that one pic I'd pass.

The pattern look dead and static to me.
But again, the environment and lighting may be contributing to my impression.
