I am going to ask to have this .80 round brought in:

Color: I
Clarity: SI2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 60.6%
Table: 56.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Thin to MEdium, Faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.01*6.03*3.65
Crown Angle: 33.0°

I ran it through the HCA and it came back a .8 TIC.

Thank you!

My 2nd option is to keep the diamond I have. An IGI certed .76, I, SI1, very good polish/symmetry. It is beautiful (very beautiful!) but since I have to send a diamond to Scott Kay for my new setting, I''m looking for my permanent diamond. The IGI may end up being that stone, but since I have the opportunity to buy the .80 and it may be a better diamond and $100 cheaper

No IS. It''s from Jared''s and I''m surprised they even have photos on their site!

How does your current diamond fare on the HCA? Also, have you compared your current diamond to GIA graded I color stones? If it performed well on the HCA and the color difference was not noticable with the GIA stones (the main issue) then simpler to keep what you have me thinks.

This one looks good but of course want to make sure it is eye clean.

I can't compute my current .76 diamond on the HCA because I have none of the angles. IGI only gives polish and symmetry, measurements and weight, color and clarity. I called them three times before I finally got ahold of someone to tell me if I could get my diamonds full cert. I have to pay an additional $25.00 to get it. That bothered me a lot because I had already paid $2500 for it, why not just give me the darn certificate for free?

My SA has to call the .80 in for me to see it. Since it's Friday and it may not be in until Monday or Tuesday. The GIa cert lists only a feather as it's clarity
characteristic.

ETA: My current diamond is beautiful, I don't want to knock it just because it was graded by IGI! Last night at my daughter's winter concert, it was just a fireball under the auditorium llights. So if I keep it, I don't think I'm keeping a dud diamond by any means. But this GIA is larger than mine, and better specs and $100 cheaper than my current one.

Thanks dear, that looks fine!

Thank you all so very very much for your help! I ordered the diamond today and picked up my Scott Kay setting. It will take a week to get the diamond in and then I''ll go give Jared''s the setting back. They will ship it to SK and then the wait begins! I just need to decide if I want to pair up with it a plain 2mm or a 3mm band!

And the setting I''m making such a fuss about

You can see in the pictures that the prongs need work!

Remember the halo I had 2 weeks ago? It was 14k white gold and I have a nickle allergy, yet I still bought it anyway. My hands falred up in a week with eczema and even thought I haven''t worn the setting in a few days (maybe a week?) My fingers still look bad! So I apologize for the nasty dry skin photo!

But, you can see the setting paired up with a 2mm plain platinum band. I may go with a 3mm but I love this look and it''s super comfy!

Those prongs are not done so well. The setting looks unfinished.

Right. The setting was either damaged when they removed the CZ to set a diamond or it was a return and when they took that person''s diamond out, they majorly eff''ed up the prongs. The rest of the mounting just need a polish! But Scott Kay will make it beautiful again.

Are you going to trade in your beautiful halo? I love that setting, you could just give it to me.

That setting looks lovely!

So you have ordered the new diamond? That''s great! When you see it, will you still have the option to return it/exchange it if the diamond it not eye clean enough for you? In the picture it looks like the feather may be near the girdle (if that is the feather). Is that an issue? I hope not! I am waiting for an SI2 from BGD right now and I am nervous about it being eye clean!

I ordered the .80 yesterday. I do have 30 days to return the diamond but basically it''s going to come in, I''ll see it, approve it, and then give Jared''s back the Scott Kay setting. They will mail the setting and the diamond to SK for them to fix the setting and set the diamond. I''ve been told it will take about 60 days!

If I don''t like the diamond, I can reject it and choose a different one. Hopefully that won''t be the case! I''ve been researching feathers near girdles and it looks like it''s a case by case basis.
