just wanted to see what people thought of this OEC. Its listed as SI2 and and I'm wondering if you think the inclusions are visible? I can see a lot of something in the photos but am not sure if this is inclusions, dirt or reflections?

She says no obvious inclusions...

i can't seem to save and post the actual photos due to copyright

TIA!

For that price, and that much stone, I'd buy it to simply look at in person and decide for myself. There's a three day return period, so nothing to lose. :))

The price is incredible. The only thing is that it looks pretty yellow in those pics. No way it's an H and that makes me wonder about the SI2. I can definitely see a good number of inclusions in that stone from the pics...but as JG wrote there is a 3 day return period so you can see it for yourself and judge. It just might be gorgeous in person!

There was some feedback on this vendor that was not "overly positive". I can't remember the post.. but I remember reading it recently because they had an Emerald Cut I was studying for a little while... Wish I could be more help. I'll try and find it! I want to say it was in the Antique Jewelry section...

Oh, it would be great to have a PS list of recommended (and not so highly recommended) RubyLane vendors! I often wonder when I am thinking of buying from RubyLane if a PSer had an experience good or bad with that specific vendor. It would be so helpful if we could have a thread about that like we do with other vendors (ebay, PS vendors etc).

ETA: This one has potential from what I can see...

Thanks for your opinions i wanted to get a feel for what other ppl thought about it.

i've been looking at some of the stones I'm considering for a long time and I'm contemplating organising to see this in person. my worries are that it doesn't looking clean either because of poor clarity or hopefully because its just not clean! but also it seems to have a very thick girdle, it has kozibe effect which i usually like but in this stone it seems messy and almost double visioned.

i much preferred the look of this one http://www.rubylane.com/item/812742-DR-3x2e07/1910-Edwardian-3-07ct-European it says sale pending but it has been pending for months. I might contact her and organise to have a look anyway at the 3.85 and the 3.07 if she does still have it. and in the least i will be able to post more info and photos for other lurkers :)

I would be interested on hearing what the bad feedback was if anyone can remember and i cant find it myself

Missy thanks for posting the 3.28 it looks to be a better cut stone. or maybe the photographys just better! It's looks like that one is in texas and at the moment I'm only considering stones i can see in person in LA and NY. we will also have short stints in Vegas (for fun) and literally hours in san diego (for H Moradi)

There should be a thread on good and bad rubylane vendors. and other sites too. ebay, diamondbistro, loupetroop etc

Definitely contact her hippi. You never know- that sale might have fallen through. Good luck with your search! Sometimes I feel the search is (almost) as satisfying as finally receiving your HG ring! I cannot wait to see what you find!

Haven't read the other posts, but it looks like some black carbon is scattered thru the stone, or maybe it's just dirty, so hard to tell in those pics. Also the girdle looks REALLY thick, and bruted to my eyes (or again maybe it's the pics). You could have the stone rehabbed a bit to clean it up (girdle etc) but the carbon won't go away. However if the seller is on the up and up and it's got a return then you could check it out in person. Whether it's an H or not...even an I/J would be a great price if it is eye clean. It's also hard to tell if it's eye-clean with giant magnified pics. My stone is an SI2 by EGL grading, I think it's actually a good representation of the clarity grade, but my inclusions are white vs black, which are harder to 'see' when the stone is well cut. Good luck!

If i bought it, I would have to put a polish on that girdle.

Eek - you wouldn't want to pay a 10% restocking fee on this big of a purchase!
