Thoughts on this 11.5mm brilliant cushion?

Hello! I've been searching around for something around the 11-12mm mark that sings to me. I have been thinking on what stones I've worn over the years and while I'm drawn to some of the chunky antique stones, they can sometimes feel a little windowy in sizes this large. I think I want to stick with something brilliant. This cushion seemed interesting... IGI-LG560236352

Do you see any big red flags? The still photo seems to be at a bad angle because the video shows a better face. Thoughts?

It looks gorgeous to me but I’m not a cushion expert.

Me either! I put it on hold... I might order it in to see in person.:cool2: I need to think about it tonight.

I want to hate it because large CVD diamonds are usually trash, but it looks lovely. It’s definitely warm but if you like the warmth then it could be a keeper. @DejaWiz, what sayeth you?

I do like the warmth.

I have watched the video over and over and looked for the graining that folks talk about (that I can never see, LOL).

I can never see it either, LOL. And I'm kinda happy I can't, cause I'm usually happy with what I buy, and I know it wouldn't pass a lot of Pricescopers' tests.

It looks nice to me but I’m not an expert! This is a good way to look at it closer. I used this for a stone that had an unclear video on Ritani.

Thanks!! I think it's the same video but maybe better quality-- I zoomed in on my computer screen I think I might see some striations. Maybe.

:oops2:

Yes I agree it’s a higher quality version of the same video. I was able to see inclusions in my stone that I couldn’t see in the Ritani video. If the striations are only visible in this super high def close up, it’s probably likely that they won’t be visible to the eye/affect performance! Fingers crossed.

@springsparkle @Runningmama Is it normal for prices to fluctuate when you take things off hold? This stone was $11k and now is $13k when I messaged them to take it off hold and check-out. Kind of annoying :( I am going to wait to see what the pricing does. [EDIT: they changed the price for me!! but now I've got this oval on my mind...]

In the meantime, this caught my eye. Nice and warm! Imagine set in one of Caysie Van Bebber (CvB design) halos with rubies. https://loupe360.com/diamond/LG551215169

My only worry is that maybe it's a bit TOO big.

Pricing is all over the place lately. I saw one a couple weeks back for $4500, but I waited for a couple days, and it jumped to over $10,000. Now it's priced at $6100.

I’ve never put anything on hold, but I’ve definitely seen prices changing on stones that I’ve saved. One went from $3k to over $10k. I usually like to make myself wait a day to think about a stone, but if I really like it and it’s a good price (and good return policy) I’ll buy it the day I find it.

I worry about posting about a stone here and having someone snag it. I'm waiting on confirmation from Ritani.

The oval is just too big. I want a colored stone halo and I think that would cover the entire width of my finger  Not a daily driver of a ring (for me). Maybe for cocktail hours a few times a year-- or a necklace. Or in a few years when DSS sets in.

Thank you for your help and thoughts.
