Thoughts on this 1.40ct AGS Ideal.

It is ideal cut, which is great. It is a 60/60 style, though, with a large table and shallow crown. It is not a stone that would appeal to me, personally, but it is a desirable size at 1.4 cts. I'd have to see a close up view of the stone to see how the feather inclusions look.

Re: Thoughts on this 1.40ct AGS Ideal. (Updated)

Thanks for the replies...I am beyond confused in my choices. I do not have a detailed picture of the 1.40 but I have seen it in person. The stone was eye clean and I had a hard time finding the feather inclusion with a loop. The stone did look very good in person. The 1.50 F/SI1 (b2cjewels) looks great on paper. From what I've read it is best to stay away from nice round numbers like 1.50.

This whole process has turned from excitement to mass confusion. I'm confident that my g/f will love any stone that I buy but I want to make sure it is the right one.

I'm going to be choosing one of these stones in the next week or two. I wish I could compare them all in person but that is obviously not possible.

1.33 $11,278 - http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9633/

1.40 $12,300- AGS cert attached at beginning of post

1.40 $13,800 - http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3111282-1.40-carat-Round-diamond-F-color-VS2-clarity.aspx

1.50 $12,600 - http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-3296259-1.50-carat-Round-diamond-F-color-SI1-clarity.aspx

The only stone I have seen in person is the 1.40 AGS Ideal and it looked good but it seems expensive compared to other stones. The 1.33 looks awesome on paper and in the video but it is just a little bit small. The 1.4 F/VS2 is a little more then I wanted to spend and they are not providing any images of the stone. The 1.50 seems like it is too good for the price, without a image it is very hard to take it seriously. Right now, I'm leaning toward the 1.40 that I saw in person.

Thanks for the input guys.

Vj2651, mind asking how big is the feather? It looks super clean for an SI.

Green - I haven't seen many stones but the feather wasn't big when I looked through a loop. The dealer said this stone is priced a little higher because he assumed it would come back a VS2 instead of SI1, reason he got it graded by GIA and AGS. I have included a link to the GIA. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/60439/JasDiamonds1.40ESI1/1.40RDESI1GIAD60.2T60.jpg

Thanks for attaching the GIA. The AGS report is not very clear. is that 1 or more feathers on the plot?

Sorry for side tracking.

I believe it is just 1 feather on the plot. The other inclusions are tiny feathers that I didn't notice with a loop until the dealer pointed them out.

Thank you for your clarification. And good luck on your search :)
