Thoughts on these stats?

So funny story. I wrote to FourMine to ask about the K stone, and the rep flat out told me the diamond has a brown tint and is unattractive but they'd be happy to help me find another one.
lol, what an odd tactic? or maybe commendable honestly and good intent?

Also, how does one find if other vendors carry the same stone? Is there a way to search by GIA number?

OMG B2C said that same thing to me!!!! They were like, "no no you don't want this one, it's BROWN! GROSS!" and I was like ummmm guys, that's exactly what I want. They just kept being crappy about it.

Maybe they think nobody wants brown. It’s only a K, so it can’t be too dark. Is it hazy/milky? Do they have it in hand so they could photograph it for you? Or are they making a judgment based on the report or something else?

In the video it looks fine, I think:

I imagine they are just ASSUMING nobody wants any brown tint. Although why even list it then? merp...

That was going to be my suggestion. “Oh if it’s icky, how about 30%off?”

I seriously almost tried that with B2C! They were so grossed out by my "BROWN" modifier that I wanted to tell them to lower prices.

That is so weird:confused:

Right?!
Like what weird cognitive dissonance to be like "ew, it's gross and ugly, but we expect someone to pay $10,000 for it". Sure, 10k is a bit less than a 2ct K with no brown, but not by THAT much.

Thought this would be a fun side by side
K with brown next to K with yellow, 800$ less for the "unattractive" brown

I suppose the brown makes the stone look darker?
While I personally don’t like tint of most kinds, I particularly detest yellow ... not sure why. I think the brown tint is much better, but the market says brown is the least desirable. Someone around here once posted a beautiful champagne stone - more brown than yellow. *shrug*

My guess is that they are just covering their booties to avoid later internet shaming (of a different kind, haha). Admittedly in a very non-sales-savvy way, but if the make a big deal about the brown modifier, the more traditional consumer can't come back and say "OMG this diamond is so ugly! It's BROWN! FourMine is such a scam, do NOT buy!!!!"

Or something along those lines
