My Mahenge should arrive any day now, and if all goes well and love it as much in person then I want to have it set into a RHR.

My inspiration piece:

Here are the CAD's from Jon (GOG)... thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

I prefer the East-West setting myself, however, that's a personal preference.

DK :))

Jon is preparing some for me, I will post them as soon as I get them ;))

Here is the east/west design... 2 different bezels.

To me, the East-West setting looks more balanced, nice ring!

DK :))

Another vote for the east west version.

I'm normally more of a N-S kinda gal, but in this case with this design I love the E-W!

I like the second E-W version best.

How about the size of the diamonds? Right now they are .20ct each. Good?

Also, I think on the Mahenge the bezel is a little too big (covers too much of the stone). What does everyone else think?

I believe the size of the side stones look good with the centre stone.

Of the two semi bezels, I prefer the first one, and agree that the bezel could do with cutting down a bit so that it resembles the original inspiration more.

Can't wait to see the finished ring as it is going to be a very nice ring.

DK :))

with the design youre doing i really love the EW bezel with the bezel at the ends, the first EW cad you posted.

East-West version looks really lovely and I too vote for slightly less bezel.

I like the E-W also, but prefer the 2nd bezel style to protect your stone.

I think the N-S setting would also look good, but with different sidestones. Traps or half moons would flatter the shape of an oval set N-S.

I was just thinking this before I read it. As a smaller stone, the bezel might overwhelm the gem. I would probably prong set it. I like the modern styling, but I think it's more suited to a larger gem suite. Sorry. :(

I too prefer the east/west orientation.
the bezel does not bother me in the least and I prefer it to prongs
why? it protects the stone!
perhaps the bezel could be "refined"?
i'd leave it alone but then it is not for me, is it?

Your ring is going to be awesome! I really like the east/west setting with the first bezel, or maybe a full bezel for more protection. I am looking forward to further updates :appl: .

I prefer the East-West orientation and a thinner bezel if it can be done as such.

I LOVE the E-W setting but I have larger fingers and like coverage. The N-S might look better on daintier hands than mine. But another plus on the E-W setting, the bezel covers less of the stone because its on the long ends. It looks find too me when cut back as you suggested (and shown in the first picture). Are the CAD drawings to scale with the actual the size of your stone (showing my ignorance here)?

CAD's are representative of my true finger size (8.25 on my right hand). No dainty fingers here!

Here are the revised CAD's from Jon...

I like the look of the new CADs.

The new CADS are gorgeous! What do you think of them?

The new CADS look great. I'm also pretty impressed with the hand rendering too.

Perfection! :appl:

The new cads look fantastic. I really like the design.

Agreed, love them. I have asked to provide a quote based on these new renderings. I still haven't gotten my Mahenge in the mail though... so getting a little anxious as I leave for a family vacation on Friday.

Did it arrive? I just picked up another mahenge which made me wondering what happened to your search/project :)

I prefer the E-W also for those sidestones. The N-S setting lacked flow.
