Thoughts on the attached studs for everyday wear

Hi everyone!

I was wondering what people's thoughts were on the attached studs for everyday wear in a typical 9-5 office setting. Sorry for the bad photo lol. Are these a suitable size or would going a tad bit bigger make them too showy?

For background, I got these over 15 years ago and I was absolutely in love with them. I stopped wearing them for a while and recently started to wear them again. However, I feel that my face has gotten a LOT larger since when I first received them, so they seem to just disappear. I am not sure yet if I want to get a bigger stud to offset the weight gain in my face.

I have really big, meaty earlobes and I don't want anyone to be biased based on the carat size, so I've omitted the carat size for now. I appreciate all of your input and suggestions in advance!

I know you’re only showing your ear, but they seem nicely portioned from what I can tell. Noticeable but not over the top for an office.

Nice but not over the top. I feel you can go larger and still not look over the top.

I don't like big diamond studs on young ladies (like, 25 and under -- to me it just looks like generic CZ studs because I'm biased against kids wearing big diamonds!), but at a certain combo of age and professional achievement, wear whatever you darn well please. I think the proportions are lovely. I'm wearing 5mm bezeled French cuts (ok, so they're a simulant, but I'm saving for a big OEC :twisted2:) every single darn day and I think they work just fine now that I'm 35 and could have bought them in real diamonds with my own professional income.

I think they look great!

I think they look great! I have both your issues (large lobes and face shape change from medication) and I almost always wear 1.5ctw studs with either emerald or diamond halo jackets. Adult daughter has barely-there earlobes and her .5ctw studs look bigger than mine do in halos. Size is definitely relative!

For the office I think they are a perfect size. Any larger might look either “CZ” or “$$$”.
You could consider a halo jacket in diamonds, that way you can buy some other gemstone studs ie sapphire, amythest, blue topaz etc and mix and match with the diamond halo jacket.
Aleternatively you can buy / have made “dangles” with a donut top which you just thread your post through to connect.
I prefer building a “wardrobe” so you can make lots of different earring combinations.

Btw I wear 2 carat per ear and they still look lost and lonely on my vast ear real estate - sad face..

IMO they’re nicely proportioned to your ear lobe. I don’t think it’s OTT, but they have presence.

I think they look great as well and you could certainly go a bit larger if you wanted. No matter what, don't leave those languishing in the drawer - they look fabulous on you!

Stud perfection on you. The size is just right IMO and they look gorgeous!

Thanks so much for your responses and kind words everyone!

I got these as a gift when I was a teenager. I'm in my 30s now and I'm in the beginning stages of making my first diamond purchase, by myself, for myself.

To be honest, I don't really NEED to go bigger on my solitaires. The reason I actually stopped wearing these in my mid-20s was when I started working in an office setting and I felt like they were too big for my age. Or at least I felt self conscious of it. It didn't seem realistic for someone my age and my salary at that time.

It was a pretty conservative environment. Most of the people "above" my rank would wear much smaller or less noticeable sizes. There were a few people "under" my rank who wore a lot of bling, but IMO I always thought they must either be fake or they made a lot of really bad financial decisions.

Now that I'm older, I'm OK with wearing these again, but I feel like I should go a bit bigger because of my age and facial changes? I've purchased some moissanites online and I'm experimenting with the various different sizes but Im having a hard time making a decision for the solitaires.

HA I just posted a similar question in another thread. I think your diamond/lobe proportions are very similar to mine for my everyday diamonds. I think they look perfectly appropriate, not to say that you cannot or should not go bigger if you are comfortable with that.

IMO, they are perfect. Not too big, not too small. I'm guessing they're .75-1ct each?

Me too and mine are smaller than yours..3.04..but I still have a good amount of space around them...darn lobes..

I really like the size on you..I have a pair of smaller studs..almost 2 ctw..and those are perfect..but the stats aren’t as great as the 3 carat ones I have now. I actually prefer the size of the smaller ones but I couldn’t justify getting the same size so went bigger. If you would like to go a bit bigger then they’re still suitable for an office. People make assumptions all the time. I would get what you can afford and feel comfortable with but I think the size you have now looks very pretty on you..

I agree with the others who think they are just the right size for an office setting. They don't look overly large, but definitely do not disappear. I personally wouldn't go much larger for an office setting unless you were in an area where larger studs were the norm. I don't necessarily think larger stones would look like they must be CZ, but too much larger and they might look a bit out of place for a typical office.
